கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் கில்காலிலிருந்து போகீமுக்கு வந்து: நான் உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணி உங்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு ஆணையிட்ட தேசத்தில் நான் உங்களைக் கொண்டு வந்து விட்டு, உங்களோடே பண்ணின என் உடன்படிக்கையை நான் ஒருக்காலும் முறித்துப்போடுவதில்லை என்றும்,

கில்கால் நகரத்திலிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் போகீம் நகரத்திற்குச் சென்றான். தூதன் கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து ஒரு செய்தியை இஸ்ரவேலருக்குக் கூறினான். இதுவே அந்த செய்தி: “நான் உங்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து வெளியே கொண்டு வந்தேன். உங்கள் முற் பிதாக்களுக்குக் கொடுப்பதாக வாக்களித்த தேசத்திற்கு உங்களை வழிநடத்தினேன். உங்களோடு செய்த உடன்படிக்கையை ஒருபோதும் மீறமாட்டேன் என்று உங்களுக்குக் கூறினேன்.
