கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதிகளை எழும்பப்பண்ணுகிறபோது, கர்த்தர் நியாயாதிபதியோடேகூட இருந்து, அந்த நியாயாதிபதியின் நாட்களிலெல்லாம் அவர்கள் சத்துருக்களின் கைக்கு அவர்களை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சித்துவருவார்; அவர்கள் தங்களை இறுகப்பிடித்து ஒடுக்குகிறவர்களினிமித்தம் தவிக்கிறதினாலே, கர்த்தர் மனஸ்தாபப்படுவார்.

கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்கு நியாயாதிபதிகளை எழும்பச்செய்கிறபோது, கர்த்தர் நியாயாதிபதியோடு இருந்து அந்த நியாயாதிபதி வாழ்ந்த நாட்களிலெல்லாம் அவர்களுடைய எதிரிகளின் கைக்கு அவர்களை விலக்கி காப்பாற்றிவருவார்; அவர்கள் தங்களை இறுகப்பிடித்து ஒடுக்குகிறவர்களினால் தவிக்கிறதினாலே, கர்த்தர் துக்கப்படுவார்.

பலமுறை இஸ்ரவேலருக்குத் தம் பகைவர்களால் தீங்கு நேர்ந்தது. எனவே இஸ்ரவேலர் உதவி வேண்டினார்கள். ஒவ்வொரு முறையும், கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்காக மனமிரங்கினார். ஒவ்வொரு முறையும், பகைவரிடமிருந்து இஸ்ரவேலரைக் காப்பாற்ற ஒரு நியாயதிபதியை அனுப்பினார். கர்த்தர் எப்பொழுதும் அந்த நியாயதிபதிகளோடு இருந்தார். எனவே ஒவ்வொரு முறையும் இஸ்ரவேலர் பகைவர்களிடமிருந்த காப்பாற்றப்பட்டனர்.

ஆண்டவர் அவர்களுக்காக நீதித் தலைவர்களை எழச்செய்த பொழுதெல்லாம் அவர் அந்தத் தலைவர்களுடன் இருந்து, அத்தலைவர்களின் வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் எதிரிகளின் கையிலிருந்து மக்களை விடுவித்தார். ஏனெனில், துன்புறுத்தப்பட்டு, ஒடுக்கப்பட்ட அவர்களின் அழுகுரலைக் கேட்டு ஆண்டவர் அவர்கள் மீது இரக்கம் கொண்டார்.

And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
