அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் கையில் தின்பண்டங்களையும் எக்காளங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்; மற்ற இஸ்ரவேலரெல்லாரையும் தங்கள் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டு, அந்த முந்நூறு பேரைமாத்திரம் வைத்துக்கொண்டான்; மீதியானியரின் சேனை அவனுக்குத் தாழ்விடமான பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இருந்தது.

அப்பொழுது மக்கள் தங்கள் கையில் தின்பண்டங்களையும் எக்காளங்களையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்கள்; மற்ற இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எல்லோரையும் தங்கள் தங்கள் இருப்பிடங்களுக்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டு, அந்த முந்நூறுபேரைமட்டும் வைத்துக்கொண்டான்; மீதியானியர்களின் படை அவனுக்குத் தாழ்விடமான பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இருந்தது.

எனவே கிதியோன் பிற இஸ்ரவேலரைத் திருப்பி அனுப்பிவிட்டான். 300 மனிதரை மட்டும் கிதியோன் தன்னோடு இருக்கச் செய்தான். வீட்டிற்குச் சென்றவர்களது பொருட்களையும், எக்காளங்களையும் அந்த 300 பேரும் வைத்துக் கொண்டனர். கிதியோனின் முகாமிற்குக் கீழேயுள்ள பள்ளத்தாக்கில் மீதியானியர் முகாமிட்டுத் தங்கி இருந்தனர்.

அந்த முந்நூறு பேர் தங்கள் கைகளில் உணவுப் பொருள்களையும் தங்கள் எக்காளங்களையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டனர். அவர் மற்ற எல்லா இஸ்ரயேலரையும் அவர்கள் கூடாரத்திற்கு அனுப்பிவிட்டு அந்த முந்நூறு பேரைத் தம்முடன் நிறுத்திக்கொண்டார். மிதியானியரின் பாளையம் அவர் இருந்த இடத்திற்குக் கீழே பள்ளத்தாக்கில் இருந்தது.⒫
