அதினால் கிதியோன் ஒரு எபோத்தை உண்டாக்கி, அதைத் தன் ஊரான ஒப்ராவிலே வைத்தான்; இஸ்ரவேலரெல்லாரும் அதைப் பின்பற்றிச் சோரம்போனார்கள்; அது கிதியோனுக்கும் அவன் வீட்டாருக்கும் கண்ணியாயிற்று.

கிதியோன் ஒரு ஏபோத்தைச் செய்ய, இப்பொன்னைப் பயன்படுத்தினான். ஒப்ரா என்னும் அவனது சொந்த ஊரிலேயே ஏபோத்தை வைத்தான். இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லோரும் ஏபோத்தை வழிப்பட்டனர். இவ்விதமாக இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் தேவனிடம் அவநம்பிக்கைகொண்டு ஏபோத்தை வழிபட்டனர். கிதியோனும் அவனது குடும்பத்தினரும் பாவம் செய்யும்படியான கண்ணியாக இந்த ஏபோத் அமைந்தது.
