அப்படியே அவன் தாயின் சகோதரர் சீகேமிலிருக்கிற சகல பெரிய மனுஷரின் காதுகளும் கேட்க இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அவனுக்காகப் பேசினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது: அவன் நம்முடைய சகோதரன் என்று அவர்கள் சொன்னதினால், அவர்கள் இருதயம் அபிமெலேக்கைப் பின்பற்றச் சாய்ந்தது.

அப்படியே அவன் தாயின் சகோதரர்கள் சீகேமிலிருக்கிற எல்லா பெரிய மனிதர்களின் காதுகளும் கேட்க இந்த வார்த்தைகளையெல்லாம் அவனுக்காகப் பேசினார்கள்; அப்பொழுது: அவன் நம்முடைய சகோதரன் என்று அவர்கள் சொன்னதினால், அவர்கள் இருதயம் அபிமெலேக்கைப் பின்பற்றும்படியாக மாறியது.

அபிமெலேக்கின் மாமன்மார் சீகேமின் தலைவர்களைக் சந்தித்து இக்கேள்வியைக் கேட்டார்கள். சீகேமின் தலைவர்கள் அபிமெலேக்கைப் பின்பற்ற முடிவெடுத்தனர். தலைவர்கள், “எவ்வாறாயினும் அவன் நமக்குச் சகோதரன்” என்றார்கள்.

அவன் தாயின் சகோதரர் அவனுக்காக, செக்கேமின் எல்லா மக்களும் கேட்குமாறு, இந்த வார்த்தைகள் அனைத்தையும் கூறினர். அவர்களது இதயம் அபிமெலக்கின் பக்கம் திரும்பியது. ஏனெனில், அவர்கள் “அவன் நம் சகோதரன்” என்றனர்.
