ஆதலால், இதோ, நான் இந்த ஜனத்துக்குப் புசிக்க எட்டியையும், குடிக்கப் பிச்சுக்கலந்த தண்ணீரையும் கொடுத்து,

அதற்கு அவள்: நீங்கள் என்னை நகோமி என்று சொல்லாமல், மாராள் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்; சர்வவல்லவர் எனக்கு மிகுந்த கசப்பைக் கட்டளையிட்டார்.

நான் மூச்சுவிட எனக்கு இடங்கொடாமல், கசப்பில் என்னை நிரப்புகிறார்.

உம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்குக் கடினமான காரியத்தைக் காண்பித்தீர்; தத்தளிப்பின் மதுபானத்தை எங்களுக்குக் குடிக்கக் கொடுத்தீர்.

எழும்பு, எழும்பு, கர்த்தருடைய உக்கிரத்தின் பாத்திரத்தை அவர் கையில் வாங்கிக் குடித்திருக்கிற எருசலேமே, எழுந்துநில், தத்தளிக்கச்செய்யும் பாத்திரத்தின் வண்டல்களை உறிஞ்சிக் குடித்தாய்.

ஆதலால் சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் குறித்து: இதோ, நான் அவர்களுக்குப் புசிக்க எட்டியையும், குடிக்கப் பிச்சுக்கலந்த தண்ணீரையும் கொடுப்பேன்; எருசலேமின் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளிலிருந்து மாயமானது தேசமெங்கும் பரம்பிற்றே என்று சொல்லுகிறார்.

இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: நான் உன்னை அனுப்புகிற ஜாதிகள் குடித்து, நான் தங்களுக்குள் அனுப்பும் பட்டயத்தால் அவர்கள் தள்ளாடி, புத்திகெட்டுப்போகும்படிக்கு,

நீங்கள் குடித்து, வெறித்து, வாந்திபண்ணி, நான் உங்களுக்குள் அனுப்பும் பட்டயத்தாலே எழுந்திராதபடிக்கு விழுங்கள் என்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் உரைக்கிறார் என்று நீ அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லு.

எட்டியும் பிச்சுமாகிய என் சிறுமையையும் என் தவிப்பையும் நினைத்தருளும்.
