உமது விரல்களின் கிரியையாகிய உம்முடைய வானங்களையும், நீர் ஸ்தாபித்த சந்திரனையும், நட்சத்திரங்களையும் நான் பார்க்கும்போது,

உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் நீ சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ள உனக்குக் கொடுக்கும்தேசத்தின் சுற்றுப்புறத்தாராகிய என்னுடைய சத்துருக்களையெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் விலக்கி, உன்னை இளைப்பாறப்பண்ணும்போது, நீ அமலேக்கின் பேரை வானத்தின்கீழ் இராதபடிக்கு அழியப்பண்ணக்கடவாய்; இதை மறக்கவேண்டாம்.

வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் உண்டாக்காத தெய்வங்கள், பூமியிலும் இந்த வானத்தின்கீழும் இராதபடிக்கு அழிந்துபோகும் என்பதை அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுங்கள்.

தேவரீர் கோபத்தால் மூடிக்கொண்டு, எங்களைத் தப்பவிடாமல் பின் தொடர்ந்து கொன்றீர்.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தரின் கோபமும் எரிச்சலும் அந்த மனிதன்மேல் புகையும்; இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற சாபங்களெல்லாம் அவன்மேல் தங்கும்; கர்த்தர் அவன் பேரை வானத்தின்கீழ் இராதபடிக்குக் குலைத்துப்போடுவார்.

இஸ்ரவேலின் பேரை வானத்தின் கீழிருந்து கொலைத்துப்போடுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லாமல், யோவாசின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் கையால் அவர்களை ரட்சித்தார்.

அவர்களுடைய வழி இருளும் சறுக்கலுமாயிருப்பதாக; கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் அவர்களைப் பின்தொடருவானாக.

இவ்விதமாய்ப் பேசுவேன் என்று நான் சொன்னேனானால். இதோ, உம்முடைய பிள்ளைகளின் சந்ததிக்குத் துரோகியாவேன்.

வானங்கள் கர்த்தருடையவைகள்; பூமியையோ மனுபுத்திரருக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.
