எனக்கு முன்னிருந்த அதிபதிகள் ஜனங்களுக்குப் பாரமாயிருந்து, அவர்கள் கையிலே அப்பமும் திராட்சரசமும் வாங்கினதும் அல்லாமல், நாற்பதுசேக்கல் வெள்ளியும் வாங்கிவந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் வேலைக்காரர் முதலாய் ஜனங்கள்மேல் அதிகாரம் செலுத்தினார்கள்; நானோ தேவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால் இப்படிச் செய்யவில்லை.

நான் இனி தேசத்துக் குடிகளின்மேல் இரக்கம்வையாமல் மனுஷரில் யாவரையும் அவனவனுடைய அயலான் கையிலும் அவனவனுடைய ராஜாவின் கையிலும் அகப்படப்பண்ணுவேன்; அவர்கள் தேசத்தை அழித்தும், நான் இவர்களை அவர்கள் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பதில்லையென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

சத்துரு சிங்கம்போல் என் ஆத்துமாவைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோய், விடுவிக்கிறவன் இல்லாமையால். அதைப் பீறாதபடிக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவியும்.

அரசாளுகிற அடிமையினிமித்தமும், போஜனத்தால் திருப்தியான மூடனினிமித்தமும்,

கானான் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன், தன் சகோதரரிடத்தில் அடிமைகளுக்கு அடிமையாயிருப்பான் என்றான்.

உன் நடுவிலிருக்கிற அந்நியன் உனக்கு மேற்பட்டு மேன்மேலும் உயர்ந்திருப்பான்; நீ மிகவும் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டுப்போவாய்.

ஓரோனியனான சன்பல்லாத்தும், அம்மோனியனான தொபியா என்னும் ஊழியக்காரனும், அரபியனான கேஷேமும் இதைக் கேட்டபோது, எங்களைப் பரியாசம்பண்ணி, எங்களை நிந்தித்து: நீங்கள் செய்கிற இந்தக் காரியம் என்ன? நீங்கள் ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம்பண்ணப்போகிறீர்களோ என்றார்கள்.

அவன் பிள்ளைகள் இரட்சிப்புக்குத் தூரமாகி, தப்புவிப்பாரில்லாமல், வாசலிலே நொறுக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.

நான் துன்மார்க்கன் அல்ல என்பது உமக்குத் தெரியும்; உம்முடைய கைக்கு என்னைத் தப்புவிக்கிறவன் இல்லை.

தேவனை மறக்கிறவர்களே, இதைச் சிந்தித்துக்கொள்ளுங்கள்; இல்லாவிட்டால் நான் உங்களைப் பீறிப்போடுவேன், ஒருவரும் உங்களை விடுவிப்பதில்லை.

நாள் உண்டகாததற்கு முன்னும் நானே இருக்கிறேன்; என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்கத்தக்கவன் இல்லை; நான் செய்கிறதைத் தடுப்பவன் யார்?

இப்போதும் அவளுடைய நேசர்களின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக அவளுடைய அவலட்சணத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்; ஒருவரும் அவளை என்கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி விடுவிப்பதில்லை.
