தரையில் ஊருகிற பிராணிகளெல்லாம் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருக்கக்கடவது; அவை புசிக்கப்படலாகாது.

பறக்கிறவைகளில் நாலுகாலால் நடமாடுகிற ஊரும் பிராணிகள் யாவும் உங்களுக்கு அருவருப்பாயிருப்பதாக.

துன்மார்க்கன் தன் உள்ளம் இச்சித்ததைப் பெற்றதினால் பெருமைபாராட்டி, பொருளை அபகரித்துத் தன்னைத்தான் போற்றி, கர்த்தரை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிறான்.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் எழுந்திருந்து, அவனுக்கு எதிரிட்டு, அவனை மடங்கடியும்; கர்த்தாவே, என் ஆத்துமாவைத் துன்மார்க்கனுடைய கைக்கு உம்முடைய பட்டயத்தினால் தப்புவியும்.

தங்களைத் தாங்களே பரிசுத்தப்படுத்திக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களும், தோப்புகளின் நடுவிலே தங்களைத் தாங்களே ஒருவர் பின் ஒருவராய்ச் சுத்திகரித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களும், பன்றியிறைச்சியையும், அருவருப்பானதையும், எலியையும் சாப்பிடுகிறவர்களும் ஏகமாய்ச் சங்கரிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்: கொஞ்சக்காலத்துக்குள்ளே இன்னும் ஒருதரம் நான் வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் சமுத்திரத்தையும் வெட்டாந்தரையையும் அசையப்பண்ணுவேன்.

பின்பு அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பொருளாசையைக்குறித்து எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள்; ஏனெனில் ஒருவனுக்கு எவ்வளவு திரளான ஆஸ்தி இருந்தாலும் அது அவனுக்கு ஜீவன் அல்ல என்றார்.

அதுமுதல் அவருடைய சீஷரில் அநேகர் அவருடனேகூட நடவாமல் பின்வாங்கிப்போனார்கள்.

நாம் இனிக் குழந்தைகளாயிராமல், மனுஷருடைய சூதும் வஞ்சிக்கிறதற்கேதுவான தந்திரமுமுள்ள போதகமாய் பலவித காற்றினாலே அலைகளைப்போல அடிபட்டு அலைகிறவர்களாயிராமல்,

அவர்களுடைய முடிவு அழிவு. அவர்களுடைய தேவன் வயிறு, அவர்களுடைய மகிமை அவர்களுடைய இலச்சையே, அவர்கள் பூமிக்கடுத்தவைகளைச் சிந்திக்கிறார்கள்.

ஆகையால், விபசாரம், அசுத்தம், மோகம், துர்இச்சை, விக்கிரகாராதனையான பொருளாசை ஆகிய இவைகளைப் பூமியில் உண்டுபண்ணுகிற உங்கள் அவயவங்களை அழித்துப்போடுங்கள்.

சுபாவ அன்பில்லாதவர்களாயும், இணங்காதவர்களாயும், அவதூறு செய்கிறவர்களாயும், இச்சையடக்கமில்லாதவர்களாயும், கொடுமையுள்ளவர்களாயும், நல்லோரைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களாயும்,

நீங்கள் பண ஆசையில்லாதவர்களாய் நடந்து, உங்களுக்கு இருக்கிறவைகள் போதுமென்று எண்ணுங்கள்; நான் உன்னைவிட்டு விலகுவதுமில்லை, உன்னைக் கைவிடுவதுமில்லை என்று அவர் சொல்லியிருக்கிறாரே.
