சுத்திகரிக்கப்படுகிறவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்த்து, தன் மயிர் முழுவதையும் சிரைத்து, தான் சுத்தமாகும்படி ஜலத்தில் ஸ்நானம்பண்ணி, பின்பு பாளயத்தில் பிரவேசித்து, தன் கூடாரத்துக்குப் புறம்பே ஏழுநாள் தங்கி,

“பிறகு அவன் தன் ஆடைகளை துவைத்து, தன் முடியை மழித்துக்கொண்டு, தண்ணீரில் குளிக்க வேண்டும். பின்னரே அவன் சுத்தமாவான். அதன் பின் அவன் கூடாரத்திற்குள் செல்லலாம். ஆனால் அவன் ஏழு நாட்கள் கூடாரத்திற்கு வெளியிலேயே தங்கவேண்டும்.

தீட்டு அகற்றப்படுவோர் தம் உடைகளைத் துவைத்து, தம் தலையை மழித்து நீராடியதும் தூய்மையாவார்; பின்பு, பாளையத்திற்குச் சென்று, ஏழு நாள் தம் கூடாரத்துக்கு வெளியே தங்கியிருப்பார்;
