தானாய் இறந்துபோனதையாவது, பீறுண்டதையாவது, புசித்தவன் எவனும், அவன் சுதேசியானாலும் பரதேசியானாலும், தன் வஸ்திரங்களைத் தோய்த்து, தண்ணீரில் முழுகி, சாயங்காலம்மட்டும் தீட்டாயிருப்பானாக; பின்பு சுத்தமாயிருப்பான்.

“இஸ்ரவேலராகிய நீங்களும், உங்களோடு வசிக்கும் அயலார் எவரும் தானாக மரித்துப்போன மிருகத்தையோ, வேறு மிருகத்தாலே கொல்லப்பட்ட மிருகத்தையோ உண்ணக் கூடாது, அது உங்களுக்குத் தீட்டாயிருக்கும். அப்படி உண்பவன் மாலைவரை தீட்டாயிருப்பான். மாலையில் அவன் தன் உடையைத் துவைத்து தண்ணீரால் உடல் முழுவதையும் கழுவ வேண்டும்.
