லேவியராகமம் 21:7
அவர்கள் தங்கள் தேவனுக்குப் பரிசுத்தமானவர்கள், ஆகையால் வேசியையாகிலும் கற்புக்குலைந்தவளையாகிலும் விவாகம்பண்ணார்களாக; தன் புருஷனாலே தள்ளப்பட்ட ஸ்திரீயையும் விவாகம்பண்ணார்களாக.

“விசேஷ வழியில் ஒரு ஆசாரியன் தேவனுக்குச் சேவை செய்கிறான். எனவே அவர்கள் வேசியையோ, கற்ப்பிழந்தவளையோ திருமணம் செய்துக்கொள்ளக் கூடாது. கணவனால் விவாகரத்து செய்யப்பட்ட பெண்ணையும் திருமணம் செய்துகொள்ளக் கூடாது.

திருவிவிலியம்
விலைமாதையோ தூய்மைக் கேடு உற்றவளையோ அவர்கள் மணம் புரியலாகாது. கணவனால் மணமுறிவு செய்யப்பட்ட பெண்ணையும் மணம்புரியலாகாது. ஏனெனில், குரு தன் கடவுளுக்கு ஏற்ற தூய்மை உடையவனாய் இருத்தல் வேண்டும்.
