உங்களுக்குள் சிறுமைப்பட்டிருக்கிற என் ஜனங்களில் ஒருவனுக்கு நீங்கள் பணம் கடனாகக் கொடுத்திருந்தால், வட்டிவாங்குகிறவர்கள்போல அவனிடத்தில் வட்டி வாங்கவேண்டாம்.

கடனாகக் கொடுக்கிற பணத்துக்கும் ஆகாரத்துக்கும், கடனாகக் கொடுக்கிறவேறே எந்தப் பொருளுக்கும், உன் சகோதரன் கையில் வட்டி வாங்காயாக.

உங்களில் ஒருவனும் பிறனுக்கு அநியாயஞ்செய்யக் கூடாது; உன் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படவேண்டும்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

வட்டிக்குக் கொடாமலும், பொலிசை வாங்காமலும், அநியாயத்துக்குத் தன்கையை விலக்கி, மனிதருக்குள்ள வழக்கே உண்மையாய்த் தீர்த்து,

வட்டிக்குக் கொடுத்து, பொலிசைவாங்கினால், அவன் பிழைப்பானோ? அவன் பிழைப்பதில்லை, இந்த எல்லா அருவருப்புகளையும் செய்தானே; அவன் சாகவேசாவான்; அவன் இரத்தப்பழி அவன்மேல் இருக்கும்.

சிறுமையானவனுக்கு நோவுண்டாக்காதபடித் தன் கையை விலக்கி, வட்டியும் பொலிசையும் வாங்காமலிருந்து தன் நியாயங்களின்படி செய்து, என் கட்டளைகளில் நடந்தால், அவன் தன் தகப்பனுடைய அக்கிரமத்தினிமித்தம் சாகாமல் பிழைக்கவே பிழைப்பான்.

என் மனதிலே ஆலோசனைபண்ணி, பிற்பாடு பிரபுக்களையும் அதிகாரிகளையும் கடிந்துகொண்டு: நீங்கள் அவரவர் தங்கள் சகோதரர்மேல் ஏன் வட்டி சுமத்துகிறீர்கள் என்று சொல்லி, அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாக ஒரு பெரிய சபைகூடிவரச்செய்து,

எனக்கு முன்னிருந்த அதிபதிகள் ஜனங்களுக்குப் பாரமாயிருந்து, அவர்கள் கையிலே அப்பமும் திராட்சரசமும் வாங்கினதும் அல்லாமல், நாற்பதுசேக்கல் வெள்ளியும் வாங்கிவந்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் வேலைக்காரர் முதலாய் ஜனங்கள்மேல் அதிகாரம் செலுத்தினார்கள்; நானோ தேவனுக்குப் பயந்ததினால் இப்படிச் செய்யவில்லை.

தன் பணத்தை வட்டிக்குக்கொடாமலும், குற்றமில்லாதவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பரிதானம் வாங்காமலும் இருக்கிறான். இப்படிச் செய்கிறவன் என்றென்றைக்கும் அசைக்கப்படுவதில்லை.

அநியாய வட்டியினாலும் ஆதாயத்தினாலும் தன் ஆஸ்தியைப் பெருகப்பண்ணுகிறவன், தரித்திரர்பேரில் இரங்குகிறவனுக்காக அதைச் சேகரிக்கிறான்.

இரத்தந்சிந்தும்படிக்குப் பரிதானம்வாங்கினவர்கள் உன்னில் இருக்கிறார்கள்; நீ வட்டியையும் பொலிசையையும் வாங்கி, பொருளாசையினால் உன் அயலானுக்கு இடுக்கண் செய்து, என்னை மறந்து போனாய் என்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
