கர்த்தருடைய தூதனானவர் அவனுக்குத் தரிசனமாகி: பராக்கிரமசாலியே கர்த்தர் உன்னோடே இருக்கிறார் என்றார்.

தேவதூதன் அவளை நோக்கி: மரியாளே, பயப்படாதே, நீ தேவனிடத்தில் கிருபைபெற்றாய்.

நான் உன்னுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன், உனக்குத் தீங்குசெய்யும்படி ஒருவனும் உன்மேல் கைபோடுவதில்லை; அந்தப் பட்டணத்தில் எனக்கு அநேக ஜனங்கள் உண்டு என்றார்.

ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே கேனியனான ஏபேரின் மனைவியாகிய யாகேல் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள், கூடாரத்தில் வாசமாயிருக்கிற ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே அவள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவளே.

அநேகம் பெண்கள் குணசாலிகளாயிருந்ததுண்டு; நீயோ அவர்கள் எல்லாருக்கும் மேற்பட்டவள் என்று அவளைப் புகழுகிறான்.

பயப்படாதே, நான் உன்னோடே இருக்கிறேன்; நான் உன் சந்ததியைக் கிழக்கிலிருந்து வரப்பண்ணி, உன்னை மேற்கிலும் இருந்து கூட்டிச்சேர்ப்பேன்.

இதோ, தேசமனைத்துக்கும், யூதாவின் ராஜாக்களுக்கும், அதின் பிரபுக்களுக்கும், அதின் ஆசாரியர்களுக்கும், தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களுக்கும் எதிராக நான் உன்னை இன்றைய தினம் அரணிப்பான பட்டணமும், இருப்புத்தூணும், வெண்கல அலங்கமும் ஆக்கினேன்.

அப்படி நான், ஜெபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்போதே, முதல் தரிசனத்திலே நான் கண்ட புருஷனாகிய காபிரியேல், வேகமாய்ப் பறந்துவந்து, அந்திப்பலியின் நேரமாகிய வேளையிலே என்னைத் தொட்டான்.

பிரியமான புருஷனே, பயப்படாதே, உனக்குச் சமாதானமுண்டாவதாக, திடங்கொள், திடங்கொள் என்றான்; இப்படி அவன் என்னோடே பேசுகையில் நான் திடங்கொண்டு அவனை நோக்கி: என் ஆண்டவன் பேசுவாராக; என்னைத் திடப்படுத்தினீரே என்றேன்.

வார்த்தைகளைக்கொண்டு கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்புங்கள்; அவரை நோக்கி: தேவரீர் எல்லா அக்கிரமத்தையும் நீக்கி, எங்களைத் தயவாய் அங்கீகரித்தருளும்; அப்பொழுது நாங்கள் எங்கள் உதடுகளின் காளைகளைச் செலுத்துவோம்.

தம்மிடத்தில் இப்படிச் சொன்னவனுக்கு அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என் தாயார் யார்? என் சகோதரர் யார்? என்று சொல்லி,

உரத்தசத்தமாய்: ஸ்திரீகளுக்குள்ளே நீ ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவள், உன் கர்ப்பத்தின் கனியும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டது.

அவர் இவைகளைச் சொல்லுகையில், ஜனக்கூட்டத்திலிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: உம்மைச் சுமந்த கர்ப்பமும் நீர் பாலுண்ட முலைகளும் பாக்கியமுள்ளவைகளென்று சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னாள்.
