ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் அவருக்குச் செவிகொடுத்து அவரை அண்டிக் கொண்டிருந்தபடியால், அதை இன்னபடி செய்யலாமென்று வகைகாணாதிருந்தார்கள்.

ஆனால் எல்லா மக்களும் இயேசுவைக் கவனமாகக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டு இருந்தார்கள். இயேசு கூறிய விஷயங்களை மிகவும் உற்சாகமாகக் கவனித்தார்கள். எனவே தலைமை ஆசாரியருக்கும், வேதபாரகருக்கும், அதிகாரிகளுக்கும் இயேசுவை எவ்வாறு கொல்ல முடியும் என்பது தெரியவில்லை.
