பிள்ளைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் பண்ணவேண்டிய எட்டாம் நாளிலே, அது கர்ப்பத்திலே உற்பவிக்கிறதற்கு முன்னே தேவதூதனால் சொல்லப்பட்டபடியே அதற்கு இயேசு என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்.

குழந்தைக்கு எட்டு நாட்கள் ஆனதும், விருத்தசேதனம் செய்யப்பட்டது. அதற்கு “இயேசு” என்று பெயரிட்டனர். மரியாளின் கரு உருவாகுமுன்னே தூதன் குழந்தைக்கு வைத்த பெயர் இதுவேயாகும்.

குழந்தைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் செய்ய வேண்டிய எட்டாம் நாள் வந்தது. தாயின் வயிற்றில் உருவாகுமுன்பே வானதூதர் சொல்லியிருந்தவாறு அதற்கு இயேசு என்று பெயரிட்டார்கள்.
