அவள் தன் முதற்பேறான குமாரனைப்பெற்று, சத்திரத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு இடமில்லாதிருந்தபடியினால், பிள்ளையைத் துணிகளில் சுற்றி, முன்னணையிலே கிடத்தினாள்.

அவள் தன் தலைப்பிள்ளையான ஆண் குழந்தையைப் பெற்றெடுத்து, சத்திரத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு இடம் இல்லாததினால், குழந்தையைத் துணிகளில் சுற்றி, கால்நடைத் தீவனப்பெட்டியில் படுக்கவைத்தாள்.

அவள் தன் முதல் மகனைப் பெற்றெடுத்தாள். விடுதிகளில் அறைகள் எதுவும் கிடைக்கவில்லை. எனவே மரியாள் குழந்தையைத் துணிகளால் சுற்றி ஆடுமாடுகள் உணவு உண்ணும் ஓர் இடத்தில் வைத்தாள்.
