அப்பொழுது, பன்னிருவரில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து என்பவன் அவரைப் பிரதான ஆசாரியருக்குக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கும்படி அவர்களிடத்திற்குப் போனான்.

சீமோனின் குமாரனாகிய யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கும்படி பிசாசானவன் அவன் இருதயத்தைத் தூண்டினபின்பு, அவர்கள் போஜனம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில்;

பேதுரு அவனை நோக்கி: அனனியாவே நிலத்தின் கிரயத்தில் ஒரு பங்கை வஞ்சித்துவைத்து, பரிசுத்த ஆவியினிடத்தில் பொய்சொல்லும்படி, சாத்தான் உன் இருதயத்தை நிரப்பினதென்ன

அப்பொழுது, பன்னிருவரில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து என்பவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியரிடத்திற்குப்போய்:

யாக்கோபின் சகோதரனாகிய யூதா, துரோகியான யூதாஸ்காரியோத்து என்பவர்களே.

உங்களெல்லாரையுங்குறித்து நான் பேசவில்லை, நான் தெரிந்துகொண்டவர்களை அறிவேன்; ஆகிலும் வேதவாக்கியம் நிறைவேறத்தக்கதாக, என்னுடனே அப்பம் புசிக்கிறவன் என்மேல் தன் குதிகாலைத் தூக்கினான்.

இயேசு பிரதியுத்தரமாக: நான் இந்தத் துணிக்கையைத் தோய்த்து எவனுக்குக் கொடுப்பேனோ அவன்தான் என்று சொல்லி, துணிக்கையைத் தோய்த்து, சீமோன் குமாரனாகிய யூதாஸ்காரியோத்துக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

என் பிராணசிநேகிதனும், நான் நம்பினவனும், என் அப்பம் புசித்தவனுமாகிய மனுஷனும், என்மேல் தன் குதிகாலைத் தூக்கினான்.

என்னை நிந்தித்தவன் சத்துரு அல்ல, அப்படியிருந்தால் சகிப்பேன்; எனக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பெருமைபாராட்டினவன் என் பகைஞன் அல்ல, அப்படியிருந்தால் அவனுக்கு மறைந்திருப்பேன்.

அவர் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னோடே கூடத் தாலத்தில் கையிடுகிறவனே என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான்.

அவன் தரித்திரரைக் குறித்துக் கவலைப்பட்டு இப்படிச் சொல்லாமல், அவன் திருடனானபடியினாலும், பணப்பையை வைத்துக்கொண்டு அதிலே போடப்பட்டதைச் சுமக்கிறவனானபடியினாலும் இப்படிச் சொன்னான்.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு: அப்பாலே போ சாத்தானே; உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பணிந்துகொண்டு அவர் ஒருவருக்கே ஆராதனை செய்வாயாக என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறதே என்றார்.
