அப்பொழுது, அவர் ஜனங்களைப் புல்லின்மேல் பந்தியிருக்கக் கட்டளையிட்டு, அந்த ஐந்து அப்பங்களையும், அந்த இரண்டு மீன்களையும் எடுத்து, வானத்தை அண்ணாந்து பார்த்து, ஆசீர்வதித்து, அப்பங்களைப் பிட்டுச் சீஷர்களிடத்தில் கொடுத்தார்; சீஷர்கள் ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்.

வழியில் நடந்தவைகளையும், அவர் அப்பத்தைப் பிட்கையில் தாங்கள் அவரை அறிந்துகொண்டதையும் விவரித்துச் சொன்னார்கள்.

அவர்கள் போஜனம் பண்ணுகையில், இயேசு அப்பத்தை எடுத்து ஆசீர்வதித்து, அதைப்பிட்டு, அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து: நீங்கள் வாங்கிப் புசியுங்கள், இது என்னுடைய சரீரமாயிருக்கிறது என்றார்.
