தெளிந்த புத்தியுள்ளவர்களாயிருங்கள், விழித்திருங்கள்; ஏனெனில், உங்கள் எதிராளியாகிய பிசாசானவன் கெர்ச்சிக்கிற சிங்கம்போல் எவனை விழுங்கலாமோ என்று வகைதேடிச் சுற்றித்திரிகிறான்.

உங்களிலும் சிலர் எழும்பி, சீஷர்களைத் தங்களிடத்தில் இழுத்துக்கொள்ளும்படி மாறுபாடானவைகளைப் போதிப்பார்களென்று அறிந்திருக்கிறேன்.

கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்குள் நமக்கு உண்டான சுயாதீனத்தை உளவுபார்த்து நம்மை நியாயப்பிரமாரணத்திற்கு அடிமைகளாக்கும்பொருட்டாகப் பக்கவழியாய் நுழைந்த கள்ளச் சகோதரர் நிமித்தம் அப்படியாயிற்று.

வெளியில் சஞ்சரிக்கிற சகல மிருகங்களே, காட்டிலுள்ள சகல மிருகங்களே, பட்சிக்க வாருங்கள்.

அவைகளை விதைக்கிற சத்துரு பிசாசு; அறுப்பு உலகத்தின் முடிவு; அறுக்கிறவர்கள் தேவதூதர்கள்.
