அதற்கு இயேசு, “உங்களால் பிசாசை விரட்ட முடியவில்லை, ஏனென்றால் உங்கள் நம்பிக்கை மிகவும் சிறிய அளவிலானது. உங்களுக்கு ஒரு கடுகளவேனும் நம்பிக்கை இருந்து இம்மலையை நோக்கி, ‘இங்கிருந்து அங்கே நகர்ந்து செல்’ எனக் கூறினால், இம்மலையும் நகரும்.

இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து, “உங்கள் நம்பிக்கைக் குறைவுதான் காரணம். உங்களுக்குக் கடுகளவு நம்பிக்கை இருந்தால் நீங்கள் இம்மலையைப் பார்த்து ‘இங்கிருந்து பெயர்ந்து அங்குப் போ’ எனக் கூறினால் அது பெயர்ந்து போகும். உங்களால் முடியாதது ஒன்றும் இராது என நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்”
