ஆகிலும், அர்கெலாயு தன் தகப்பனாகிய ஏரோதின் பட்டத்துக்கு வந்து, யூதேயாவில் அரசாளுகிறான் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டு, அங்கே போகப் பயந்தான். அப்பொழுது அவன் சொப்பனத்தில் தேவனால் எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டு, கலிலேயா நாட்டின் புறங்களிலே விலகிப்போய்,

அப்பொழுது யூதேயாவின் மன்னனாக அர்கெலாயு இருந்தான் என்பதை யோசேப்பு கேள்வியுற்றான். தன் தந்தை ஏரோது இறந்தபின் அர்கெலாயு யூதேயாவின் மன்னனானான். இவ்வாறு, யூதேயாவுக்குச் செல்ல யோசேப்பு தயங்கினான். யோசேப்பு கனவில் எச்சரிப்படைந்து அங்கிருந்து கலிலேயா பகுதிக்குச் சென்றான்.

ஆனால் யூதேயாவில் அர்க்கெலா தன் தந்தைக்குப்பின் அரசாளுவதாகக் கேள்விப்பட்டு அங்கே போக அவர் அஞ்சினார். கனவில் எச்சரிக்கப்பட்டுக் கலிலேயப் பகுதிகளுக்குப் புறப்பட்டுச் சென்றார்.
