யூதேயா தேசத்திலுள்ள பெத்லகேமே, யூதாவின் பிரபுக்களில் நீ சிறியதல்ல; என் ஜனமாகிய இஸ்ரவேலை ஆளும் பிரபு உன்னிடத்தில் இருந்து புறப்படுவார் என்று, தீர்க்கதரிசியினால் எழுதப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்றார்கள்.

“‘யூதேயாவிலுள்ள பெத்லகேமே, உனக்கு யூதேயாவின் ஆட்சியாளர்களுக்கிடையில் முக்கியத்துவம் உண்டு. ஆம், உன்னிலிருந்து ஒரு பிரபு தோன்றுவார். அவர் இஸ்ரவேல் என்னும் என் மக்களை வழி நடத்துவார்’ என்று தீர்க்கதரிசி வேத வாக்கியங்களில் எழுதியுள்ளார்” என்று கூறினார்கள்.
