சவுலும் கிபியாவிலிருக்கிற தன் வீட்டுக்குப் போனான்; இராணுவத்தில் தேவன் எவர்கள் மனதை ஏவினாரோ, அவர்களும் அவனோடேகூடப் போனார்கள்.

நீ எழுந்து, சீதோனுக்கடுத்த சாறிபாத் ஊருக்குப் போய், அங்கே தங்கியிரு; உன்னைப் பராமரிக்கும்படி அங்கே இருக்கிற ஒரு விதவைக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டேன் என்றார்.

இப்படி மனப்பூர்வமாய்க் கொடுக்கும் திராணி உண்டாவதற்கு நான் எம்மாத்திரம்? என் ஜனங்கள் எம்மாத்திரம்? எல்லாம் உம்மால் உண்டானது; உமது கரத்திலே வாங்கி உமக்குக் கொடுத்தோம்.

எரேமியாவின் வாயினாலே கர்த்தர் சொன்ன வார்த்தை நிறைவேறும்படி, பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய கோரேசுடைய முதலாம் வருஷத்திலே, கர்த்தர் பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய கோரேசின் ஆவியை ஏவினதினாலே அவன்:

அப்பொழுது எருசலேமிலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய, ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுகிறதற்குப் போகும்படி யூதா பென்யமீன் வம்சங்களின் தலைவரும் ஆசாரியரும் லேவியருமன்றி, எவர்கள் ஆவியை தேவன் ஏவினாரோ அவர்கள் எல்லாரும் எழும்பினார்கள்,

எருசலேமிலுள்ள கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தை அலங்கரிக்க, இப்படிப்பட்ட யோசனையை ராஜாவின் இருதயத்தில் அருளி, ராஜாவுக்கும் அவருடைய மந்திரிமார்களுக்கும் ராஜாவின் கைக்குள்ளான பலத்த எல்லா மகாப்பிரபுக்களுக்கும் முன்பாக எனக்குத்தயவு கிடைக்கப்பண்ணின எங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.

பூமியும் அதின் நிறைவும், உலகமும் அதிலுள்ள குடிகளும் கர்த்தருடையது.

சகல காட்டுஜீவன்களும், பர்வதங்களில் ஆயிரமாயிரமாய்த் திரிகிற மிருகங்களும் என்னுடையவைகள்.

வெள்ளியும் என்னுடையது, பொன்னும் என்னுடையது என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

பிதாவானவர் குமாரனில் அன்பாயிருந்து எல்லாவற்றையும் அவர் கையில் ஒʠύபுக்கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.

பிதாவே, வேளை வந்தது, நீர் உம்முடைய குமாரனுக்குத் தந்தருளின யாவருக்கும் அவர் நித்தியஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கும்பொருட்டு மாம்சமான யாவர்மேலும் நீர் அவருக்கு அதிகாரங்கொடுத்தபடியே, உம்முடைய குமாரன் உம்மை மகிமைப்படுத்தும்படிக்கு நீர் உம்முடைய குமாரனை மகிமைப்படுத்தும்.

எல்லாருக்கும் ஜீவனையும் சுவாசத்தையும் சகலத்தையும் கொடுக்கிற அவர், தமக்கு யாதொன்று தேவையானதுபோல, மனுஷர் கைகளால் பணிவிடைகொள்ளுகிறதுமில்லை.

நன்மையான எந்த ஈவும் பூரணமான எந்த வரமும் பரத்திலிருந்துண்டாகி, சோதிகளின் பிதாவினிடத்திலிருந்து இறங்கிவருகிறது; அவரிடத்தில் யாதொரு மாறுதலும் யாதொரு வேற்றுமையின் நிழலுமில்லை.
