என்னிடத்தில் இடறலடையாதிருக்கிறவன் எவனோ அவன் பாக்கியவான்.

சிநேகிதனை விசுவாசிக்கவேண்டாம், வழிகாட்டியை நம்பவேண்டாம்; உன் மடியிலே படுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவளுக்கு முன்பாக உன் வாயைத் திறவாமல் எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.

சகோதரன் தன் சகோதரனையும், தகப்பன் தன் பிள்ளையையும், மரணத்துக்கு ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார்கள்; பெற்றாருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பிள்ளைகள் எழும்பி அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்வார்கள்.

எப்படியெனில், மகனுக்கும் தகப்பனுக்கும், மகளுக்கும் தாய்க்கும், மருமகளுக்கும் மாமிக்கும் பிரிவினை உண்டாக்க வந்தேன்.

ஆகிலும் தனக்குள்ளே வேரில்லாதவனாய், கொஞ்சக்காலமாத்திரம் நிலைத்திருப்பான்; வசனத்தினிமித்தம் உபத்திரவமும் துன்பமும் உண்டானவுடனே இடறலடைவான்.

அப்பொழுது இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: மேய்ப்பனை வெட்டுவேன், மந்தையின் ஆடுகள் சிதறடிக்கப்படும் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, இந்த இராத்திரியிலே நீங்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிமித்தம் இடறலடைவீர்கள்.

தங்களுக்குள்ளே வேர்கொள்ளாதபடியால், கொஞ்சக்காலமாத்திரம் நிலைத்திருக்கிறார்கள், வசனத்தினிமித்தம் உபத்திரவமும் துன்பமும் உண்டானவுடனே இடறலடைகிறார்கள்; இவர்களே கற்பாறை நிலத்தில் விதைக்கப்பட்டவர்கள்.

கர்த்தரோ எனக்குத் துணையாக நின்று என்னாலே பிரசங்கம் நிறைவேறுகிறதற்காகவும், புறஜாதியார் கேட்கிறதற்காகவும், என்னைப் பலப்படுத்தினார்; சிங்கத்தின் வாயிலிருந்தும் நான் இரட்சிக்கப்பட்டேன்.

அவரைக் குறித்து இடறலடைந்தார்கள். இயேசு அவர்களை நோக்கி: தீர்க்கதரிசி ஒருவன் தன் ஊரிலும் தன் வீட்டிலுமேயன்றி வேறெங்கும் கனவீனமடையான் என்றார்.

அவர்கள் போஜனம்பண்ணுகையில், அவர்: உங்களிலொருவன் என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுப்பான் என்று மெய்யாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
