அந்த வேளையிலே இயேசு ஜனங்களை நோக்கி: கள்ளனைப் பிடிக்கப் புறப்படுகிறது போல, நீங்கள் பட்டயங்களையும் தடிகளையும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டு என்னைப் பிடிக்கவந்தீர்கள்; நான் தினந்தோறும் உங்கள் நடுவிலே உட்கார்ந்து தேவாலயத்தில் உபதேசம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன்; அப்பொழுது, நீங்கள் என்னைப் பிடிக்கவில்லையே.

பின்னர் இயேசு தம்மைப் பிடிக்க வந்தவர்கள் அனைவரையும் நோக்கி, “ஒரு குற்றவாளியைப் போல என்னைப் பிடிக்க அரிவாள் தடிகளுடன் வந்திருக்கிறீர்கள். நான் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் ஆலயத்தில் போதனை செய்தேன். ஆனால், என்னை அங்கே கைது செய்யவில்லை.

In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

In that hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a robber with swords and staves to seize me? I sat daily in the temple teaching, and ye took me not.
