அவன் நியாயாசனத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கையில், அவனுடைய மனைவி அவனிடத்தில் ஆளனுப்பி: நீர் அந்த நீதிமானை ஒன்றும் செய்யவேண்டாம்; அவர் நிமித்தம் இன்றைக்குச் சொப்பனத்தில் வெகு பாடுபட்டேன் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னாள்.

அவன் நியாயாசனத்தில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கும்போது, அவனுடைய மனைவி அவனிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி: நீர் அந்த நீதிமானை ஒன்றும் செய்யவேண்டாம்; அவர்நிமித்தம் இன்றைக்கு கனவில் வெகு பாடுபட்டேன் என்று சொல்லச் சொன்னாள்.

நீதி வழங்கும் இடத்தில் அமர்ந்து பிலாத்து இவற்றைக் கூறினான். அப்பொழுது அவனது மனைவி ஒரு செய்தி அனுப்பினாள். அதில், “இயேசுவை எதுவும் செய்யாதீர்கள். அவர் குற்றமற்றவர். இன்று நான் அவரைப்பற்றி ஒரு கனவு கண்டேன். அது என்னை மிகவும் கலங்க வைத்தது” என்றிருந்தது.

பிலாத்து நடுவர் இருக்கைமீது அமர்த்திருந்தபொழுது அவனுடைய மனைவி அவனிடம் ஆளனுப்பி, “அந்த நேர்மையாளரின் வழக்கில் நீர் தலையிட வேண்டாம். ஏனெனில், அவர்பொருட்டு இன்று கனவில் மிகவும் துன்புற்றேன்” என்று கூறினார்.
