இயேசு அவர்களுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: பிணியாளிகளுக்கு வைத்தியன் வேண்டியதேயல்லாமல் சுகமுள்ளவர்களுக்கு வேண்டியதில்லை.

நீ நிர்ப்பாக்கியமுள்ளவனும், பரிதபிக்கப்படத்தக்கவனும், தரித்திரனும், குருடனும், நிர்வாணியுமாயிருக்கிறதை அறியாமல், நான் ஐசுவரியவானென்றும், திரவியசம்பன்னனென்றும், எனக்கு ஒருகுறைவுமில்லையென்றும் சொல்லுகிறபடியால்;

இயேசு அதை கேட்டு: பிணியாளிகளுக்கு வைத்தியன் வேண்டியதேயல்லாமல் சுகமுள்ளவர்களுக்கு வேண்டியதில்லை; நீதிமான்களையல்ல, பாவிகளையே மனந்திரும்புகிறதற்கு அழைக்கவந்தேன் என்றார்.

என்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும் கர்த்தாவே, நான் பெலனற்றுப்போனேன்; என்னைக் குணமாக்கும் கர்த்தாவே, என் எலும்புகள் நடுங்குகிறது.

கர்த்தாவே, என்மேல் இரக்கமாயிரும்; உமக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்தேன், என் ஆத்துமாவைக் குணமாக்கும் என்று நான் சொன்னேன்.

இருதயம் நொறுங்குண்டவர்களைக் குணமாக்குகிறார், அவர்களுடைய காயங்களைக் கட்டுகிறார்.

கர்த்தாவே, என்னைக் குணமாக்கும், அப்பொழுது குணமாவேன்; என்னை இரட்சியும், அப்பொழுது இரட்சிக்கப்படுவேன்; தேவரீரே என் துதி.

அவர்கள்: உன்னை விசாரிப்பாரற்ற சீயோன் என்று சொல்லி, உனக்குத் தள்ளுண்டவள் என்று பேரிட்டபடியால், நான் உனக்கு ஆரோக்கியம் வரப்பண்ணி, உன் காயங்களை ஆற்றுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

இதோ, நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சவுக்கியமும் ஆரோக்கியமும் வரப்பண்ணி, அவர்களைக் குணமாக்கி, அவர்களுக்குப் பரிபூரண சமாதானத்தையும் சத்தியத்தையும் வெளிப்படுத்துவேன்.

நான் அவர்கள் சீர்கேட்டைக் குணமாக்குவேன்; அவர்களை மனப்பூர்வமாய்ச் சிநேகிப்பேன்; என் கோபம் அவர்களைவிட்டு நீங்கிற்று.

அப்பொழுது பன்னிரண்டு வருஷமாய்ப் பெரும்பாடுள்ளவளாயிருந்து, தன் ஆஸ்திகளையெல்லாம் வைத்தியர்களுக்குச் செலவழித்தும், ஒருவனாலும் சொஸ்தமாக்கப்படாதிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ,

ஜனங்கள் அதை அறிந்து, அவர் பின்னே போனார்கள், அவர்களை அவர் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தைக் குறித்து அவர்களுடனே பேசி, சொஸ்தமடையவேண்டுமென்றிருந்தவர்களைச் சொஸ்தப்படுத்தினார்.

பரிசேயன் நின்று; தேவனே! நான் பறிகாரர், அநியாயக்காரர், விபசாரக்காரர் ஆகிய மற்ற மனுஷரைப்போலவும், இந்த ஆயக்காரனைப்போலவும் இராததனால் உம்மை ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கிறேன்.

முன்னே நியாயப்பிரமாணமில்லாதவனாயிருந்தபோது நான் ஜீவனுள்ளவனாயிருந்தேன்; கற்பனை வந்தபோது பாவம் உயிர்கொண்டது, நான் மரித்தவனானேன்.
