கர்த்தாவே, உமது கை ஓங்கியிருக்கிறது, அவர்கள் அதைக் காணாதிருக்கிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் உமது ஜனத்துக்காக நீர் கொண்ட வைராக்கியத்தைக்கண்டு வெட்கப்படுவார்கள்; அக்கினி உம்முடைய சத்துருக்களைப் பட்சிக்கும்.

உமது கை உமது சத்துருக்களெல்லாரையும் எட்டிப்பிடிக்கும்; உமதுவலதுகரம் உம்மைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கும்.

கர்த்தாவே, எழுந்தருளும்; தேவனே உம்முடைய கையை உயர்த்தும்; ஏழைகளை மறவாதேயும்.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் வனாந்தரத்திலே மடியவும், அவர்கள் சந்ததி ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே அழியவும்,

நான் என் கையை உன்னிடமாய்த் திருப்பி, உன் களிம்பு நீங்க உன்னைச் சுத்தமாய்ப் புடமிட்டு, உன் ஈயத்தையெல்லாம் நீக்குவேன்.

அவர்கள் இருவரும் ஏகமாய்க்கூடி மேற்கேயிருக்கிற பெலிஸ்தருடைய எல்லைகளின்மேல் பாய்ந்து, கீழ்த்திசையாரைக் கொள்ளையிட்டு, ஏதோமின்மேலும் மோவாபின்மேலும் கைபோடுவார்கள்; அம்மோன் புத்திரர் அவர்களுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவார்கள்.

ஜனங்கள் அவர்களை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய் அவர்கள் ஸ்தானத்தில் விடுவார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் கர்த்தருடைய தேசத்திலே அவர்களை வேலைக்காரராகவும் வேலைக்காரிகளாகவும் கையாண்டு, தங்களைச் சிறையாக்கினவர்களைச் சிறையாக்கி, தங்களை ஒடுக்கினவர்களை ஆளுவார்கள்.

இப்பொழுது எழுந்தருளுவேன், இப்பொழுது உயருவேன், இப்பொழுது மேன்மைப்படுவேன் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் புறப்பட்டு, அசீரியரின் பாளயத்தில் லட்சத்தெண்பத்தையாயிரம்பேரைச் சங்கரித்தான்; அதிகாலமே எழுந்திருக்கும்போது, இதோ, அவர்களெல்லாரும் செத்த பிரேதங்களாய்க் கிடந்தார்கள்.

அன்றியும் தங்கள்மேல் நான் ராஜாவாகிறதற்கு மனதில்லாதிருந்தவர்களாகிய என்னுடைய சத்துருக்களை இங்கே கொண்டுவந்து, எனக்கு முன்பாக வெட்டிப்போடுங்கள் என்று சொன்னான் என்றார்

எல்லாச் சத்துருக்களையும் தமது பாதத்திற்குக் கீழாக்கிப்போடும்வரைக்கும், அவர் ஆளுகைசெய்யவேண்டியது.

இரத்தத்தில் தோய்க்கப்பட்ட வஸ்திரத்தைத் தரித்திருந்தார்; அவருடைய நாமம் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தை என்பதே.

பூமியின் நான்கு திசைகளிலுமுள்ள ஜாதிகளாகிய கோகையும் மாகோகையும் மோசம்போக்கும்படிக்கும், அவர்களை யுத்தத்திற்குக் கூட்டிக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கும் புறப்படுவான்; அவர்களுடைய தொகை கடற்கரை மணலத்தனையாயிருக்கும்.
