இதெல்லாம் நடக்கும்போது நான் எருசலேமில் இல்லை; பாபிலோன் ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டாவின் முப்பத்திரண்டாம் வருஷத்திலே நான் ராஜாவினிடத்திற்குப்போய், சில நாளுக்குப்பின்பு திரும்ப ராஜாவினிடத்தில் உத்தரவு பெற்றுக்கொண்டு,

இவை அனைத்தும் நிகழும்போது நான் எருசலேமில் இல்லை. நான் பாபிலோன் அரசனிடம் மறுபடியும் போயிருந்தேன். பாபிலோன் அரசனான அர்தசஷ்டாவின் முப்பத்திரண்டாவது ஆட்சியாண்டில் மறுபடியும் போனேன். பின்னர் நான் அரசனிடம் எருசலேமிற்குத் திரும்பிப் போக அனுமதி கேட்டேன்.

இவை எல்லாம் நடந்தபோது நான் எருசலேமில் இல்லை. ஏனெனில் பாபிலோனிய மன்னர் அர்த்தக்சஸ்தாவின் முப்பத்து இரண்டாம் ஆண்டில் நான் மன்னரிடம் சென்றேன். சில காலத்துக்குப் பின் மன்னரிடம் நான் விடைபெற்றுத் திரும்பி வந்தேன்.
