முதலாம் நாள் தொடங்கிக் கடைசிநாள்மட்டும், தினம்தினம் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாண புஸ்தகம் வாசிக்கப்பட்டது; ஏழுநாள் பண்டிகையை ஆசரித்தார்கள்; எட்டாம்நாளோவெனில், முறைமையின்படியே விசேஷித்த ஆசரிப்பு நாளாயிருந்தது.

முதலாம் நாள்துவங்கிக் கடைசி நாள்வரை, தினம்தினம் தேவனுடைய நியாயப்பிரமாண புத்தகம் வாசிக்கப்பட்டது; ஏழுநாள் பண்டிகையை ஆசரித்தார்கள்; எட்டாம்நாளிலோ, முறையின்படியே விசேஷித்த ஆசரிப்பு நாளாக இருந்தது.

விழாவின் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் சட்டப் புத்தகத்தில் இருந்து எஸ்றா வாசித்தான். விழாவின் முதல் நாளிலிருந்து கடைசி நாள்வரை எஸ்றா சட்டப் புத்தகத்தை வாசித்தான். இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் இவ்விழாவை ஏழு நாட்கள் கொண்டாடினார்கள். பிறகு எட்டாவது நாள் ஜனங்கள் முறைப்படி ஒரு சிறப்புக் கூட்டத்திற்காகக் கூடினார்கள்.

எஸ்ரா முதல்நாள் தொடங்கிக் கடைசிநாள்வரை கடவுளின் திருச்சட்டநூலை உரக்க வாசித்தார். அவர்கள் ஏழு நாளளவும் திருவிழாக் கொண்டாடினர். சட்ட ஒழுங்கின்படி, எட்டாம் நாள் பெரும் சபையைக் கூட்டினர்.
