கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி: எதுவரைக்கும் இந்த ஜனங்கள் எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்குவார்கள்? தங்களுக்குள்ளே நான் காட்டின சகல அடையாளங்களையும் அவர்கள் கண்டும், எதுவரைக்கும் என்னை விசுவாசியாதிருப்பார்கள்?

பூமியெல்லாம் கர்த்தருடைய மகிமையினால் நிறைந்திருக்கும் என்று என்னுடைய ஜீவனைக்கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன்.

அவர்கள் பிதாக்களுக்கு நான் ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தைக் காணமாட்டார்கள்; எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்கினவர்களில் ஒருவரும் அதைக்காணமாட்டார்கள்.

இந்த வனாந்தரத்தில் உங்கள் பிரேதங்கள் விழும்; உங்களில் இருபது வயதுமுதல் அதற்கு மேற்பட்டவர்களாக எண்ணப்பட்டு, உங்கள் தொகைக்கு உட்பட்டவர்களும் எனக்கு விரோதமாய் முறுமுறுத்திருக்கிறவர்களுமாகிய அனைவரின் பிரேதங்களும் விழும்.

ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் உங்கள் வார்த்தைகளின் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டு, கடுங்கோபங்கொண்டு:

என்னுடைய இளைப்பாறுதலில் அவர்கள் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லையென்று, என்னுடைய கோபத்திலே ஆணையிட்டேன்.

ஆனாலும் அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் அவர்களுடைய நரகலான விக்கிரகங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, அவர்கள் என் நியாயங்களை வெறுத்து, என் கட்டளைகளில் நடவாமற்போய், என் ஓய்வுநாட்களைப் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்கினபடியால்,

வனாந்தரத்திலே கோபமூட்டினபோதும், சோதனைநாளிலும் நடந்ததுபோல, உங்கள் இருதயங்களைக் கடினப்படுத்தாதிருங்கள்.
