எண்ணாகமம் 32:13
அப்படியே கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் மூண்டது; கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்த அந்தச் சந்ததியெல்லாம் நிர்மூலமாகுமட்டும் அவர்களை வனாந்தரத்திலே நாற்பது வருஷம் அலையப்பண்ணினார்.

அப்படியே கர்த்தருடைய கோபம் இஸ்ரவேலின் மேல் வந்தது; கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்தில் தீங்குசெய்த அந்தச் சந்ததியெல்லாம் அழிந்துபோகும்வரை அவர்களை வனாந்திரத்திலே நாற்பது வருடங்கள் அலையச்செய்தார்.

“இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களுக்கு எதிராக கர்த்தர் பெருங்கோபம் கொண்டிருந்தார். எனவே கர்த்தர் அவர்களை 40 ஆண்டுகள் பாலைவனத்தில் இருக்கும்படி செய்தார். கர்த்தருக்கு எதிராகப் பாவம் செய்தவர்கள் எல்லோரும் மரிக்கும் வரைக்கும் அவர்களை பாலைவனத்திலேயே இருக்கச் செய்தார்.

அத்துடன் ஆண்டவரின் சினம் இஸ்ரயேலுக்கு எதிராக மூண்டது; அவர் இப்பாலை நிலத்தில் நாற்பது ஆண்டுகள் அவர்களை அலையச் செய்தார்; ஆண்டவர் பார்வையில் தீயன செய்த தலைமுறை அனைத்தும் அழியுமட்டும் இது நடந்தது.⒫
