நீர் பகலிலே மேகஸ்தம்பத்தினாலும் அவர்கள் நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியை அவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சமாக்க இரவிலே அக்கினி ஸ்தம்பத்தினாலும், அவர்களை வழிநடத்தினீர்.

அவர்கள் இரவும் பகலும் வழிநடக்கக்கூடும்படிக்கு, கர்த்தர் பகலில் அவர்களை வழிநடத்த மேகஸ்தம்பத்திலும், இரவில் அவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சங்காட்ட அக்கினிஸ்தம்பத்திலும் அவர்களுக்கு முன் சென்றார்.

இப்படியிருக்க, சகோதரரே, நீங்கள் எவைகளை அறியவேண்டுமென்றிருக்கிறேனென்றால்; நம்முடைய பிதாக்களெல்லாரும் மேகத்துக்குக் கீழாயிருந்தார்கள், எல்லாரும் சமுத்திரத்தின் வழியாய் நடந்துவந்தார்கள்.
