தேமானே, ஏசாவின் பர்வதத்திலுள்ள மனுஷர்கள் அனைவரும் கொலையினால் சங்கரிக்கப்படும்படி உன் பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் கலங்குவார்கள்.

எலீப்பாஸின் குமாரர், தேமான், ஓமார், செப்போ, கத்தாம் கேனாஸ் என்பவர்கள்.

தேமானிலே: தீக்கொளுத்துவேன்; அது போஸ்றாவின் அரமனைகளைப் பட்சிக்கும் என் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

யோபுடைய மூன்று சிநேகிதராகிய தேமானியனான எலிப்பாசும், சூகியனான பில்தாதும், நாகமாத்தியனான சோப்பாரும், யோபுக்கு நேரிட்ட தீமைகள் யாவையும் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது அவனுக்காகப் பரிதபிக்கவும், அவனுக்கு ஆறுதல்சொல்லவும் ஓருவரோடே ஒருவர் யோசனை பண்ணிக்கொண்டு, அவரவர் தங்கள் ஸ்தலங்களிலிருந்து வந்தார்கள்.

வானங்களில் என் பட்டயம் வெறிகொண்டது; இதோ ஏதோமின்மேலும், நான் சங்காரத்துக்கு நியமித்த ஜனத்தின் மேலும், அது நியாயஞ்செய்ய இறங்கும்.

ஏதோமிலும் அதிலுள்ள போஸ்றா பட்டணத்திலுமிருந்து, சாயந்தீர்ந்த வஸ்திரங்களுடையவராகவும், மகத்துவமாய் உடுத்திருக்கிறவராகவும், தமது மகத்தான வல்லமையிலே எழுந்தருளினவராகவும் வருகிற இவர் யார்? நீதியாய்ப் பேசி இரட்சிக்க வல்லவராகிய நான்தானே.

ஏதோமைக்குறித்துச் சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்; தேமானிலே இனி ஞானமில்லையோ? ஆலோசனை விவேகிகளைவிட்டு அழிந்ததோ? அவர்களுடைய ஞானம் கெட்டுப்போயிற்றோ?

இதோ, ஒரு கழுகைப்போல எழும்பி, பறந்துவந்து, தன் செட்டைகளைப் போஸ்றாவின்மேல் விரிப்பான்; அந்நாளிலே ஏதோமுடைய பராகிரமசாலிகளின் இருதயம் பிரசவவேதனைப்படுகிற ஸ்திரீயின் இருதயம்போல இருக்கும் என்கிறார்.

கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்: நான் ஏதோம் தேசத்துக்கு விரோதமாக என் கையை நீட்டி அதில் மனுஷரையும் மிருகங்களையும் இராதபடிக்குச் சங்காரம்பண்ணி, அதைத் தேமான் துவக்கித் தேதான்மட்டும் வனாந்தரமாக்குவேன்; பட்டயத்தால் விழுவார்கள்.

அவர்களோடே போர்ச்செய்யவேண்டாம்; அவர்கள் தேசத்திலே ஒரு அடி நிலமும் உங்களுக்குக் கொடேன்; சேயீர் மலைநாட்டை ஏசாவுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுத்திருக்கிறேன்.

யோபாப் மரித்தபின், தேமானியரின் தேசத்தானாகிய ஊசாம் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான்.

தைரிய நெஞ்சுள்ளவர்கள் கொள்ளையிடப்பட்டு, நித்திரையடைந்து அசர்ந்தார்கள்; வல்லமையுள்ள எல்லா மனுஷருடைய கைகளும் அவர்களுக்கு உதவாமற்போயிற்று.

அக்காலத்திலே எகிப்தியர் பெண்டுகளைப்போலிருந்து, சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் தங்கள்மேல் அசைக்கும் கையசைவிலே அஞ்சி நடுங்குவார்கள்.

ஆகையால் கர்த்தர் ஏதோமுக்கு விரோதமாக யோசித்த ஆலோசனையையும், அவர் தேமானின் குடிகளுக்கு விரோதமாக நினைத்திருக்கிற நினைவுகளையும் கேளுங்கள்; மந்தையில் சிறியவர்கள் மெய்யாகவே அவர்களைப் பிடித்திழுப்பார்கள், அவர்கள் இருக்கிற தாபரங்களை அவர் மெய்யாகவே பாழாக்குவார்.

பட்டயம் பொய்களைப் பிணைக்கிறவர்கள்மேலும் வரும்; அவர்கள் பைத்தியக்காரராவார்கள்; பட்டயம் அதின் பராக்கிரமசாலிகள் மேலும் வரும், அவர்கள் கலங்குவார்கள்.

பலசாலிகளுக்குள்ளே தைரியவான் அந்நாளிலே நிர்வாணியாய் ஓடிப்போவான் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

ஏசாவின் பர்வதத்தை நியாயந்தீர்ப்பதற்காக இரட்சகர்கள் சீயோன்பர்வதத்தில் வந்தேறுவார்கள்; அப்பொழுது ராஜ்யம் கர்த்தருடையதாய் இருக்கும்.

இதோ, உன் நடுவில் இருக்கிற ஜனங்கள் பேடிகள்; உன் தேசத்தின் வாசல்கள் உன் சத்துருவுக்குமுன் திறவுண்டுபோகும்; அக்கினி உன் தாழ்ப்பாள்களைப் பட்சிக்கும்.
