ஒவ்வொருவனும் தன் சுயபிரயோஜனத்தைத் தேடாமல், பிறனுடைய பிரயோஜனத்தைத் தேடக்கடவன்.

அன்றியும், பலமுள்ளவர்களாகிய நாம் நமக்கே பிரியமாய் நடவாமல், பலவீனருடைய பலவீனங்களைத் தாங்கவேண்டும்.

உன்னிடத்தில் நீ அன்புகூருகிறதுபோலப் பிறனிடத்திலும் அன்புகூருவாயாக என்று வேதவாக்கியம் சொல்லுகிற ராஜரீக பிரமாணத்தை நீங்கள் நிறைவேற்றினால் நன்மைசெய்வீர்கள்.

என்னிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிற இந்தச் சிறியரில் ஒருவனுக்கு இடறலுண்டாக்குகிறவன் எவனோ, அவனுடைய கழுத்தில் ஏந்திரக்கல்லைக் கட்டி, சமுத்திரத்தின் ஆழத்திலே அவனை அமிழ்த்துவது அவனுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.

சந்தோஷப்படுகிறவர்களுடனே சந்தோஷப்படுங்கள்; அழுகிறவர்களுடனே அழுங்கள்.

நான் என் சுயபிரயோஜனத்தைத் தேடாமல், அநேகருடைய பிரயோஜனத்தைத் தேடி, அவர்கள் இரட்சிக்கப்படும்படிக்கு, எவ்விதத்திலும் எல்லாருக்கும் பிரியமாய் நடக்கிறதுபோல,

சரீர அவயவங்களில் பலவீனமுள்ளவைகளாய்க் காணப்படுகிறவைகளே மிகவும் வேண்டியவைகளாயிருக்கிறது.

ஆனபடியால் சமாதானத்துக்கடுத்தவைகளையும், அந்நியோந்நிய பக்திவிருத்தி உண்டாக்கத்தக்கவைகளையும் நாடக்கடவோம்.

ஆகிலும் இதைக்குறித்து உங்களுக்குண்டாயிருக்கிற அதிகாரம் எவ்விதத்திலும் பலவீனருக்குத் தடுக்கலாகாதபடிக்குப் பாருங்கள்.

அன்பு நீடிய சாந்தமும் தயவுமுள்ளது; அன்புக்குப் பொறாமையில்லை; அன்பு தன்னைப் புகழாது, இறுமாப்பாயிராது,
