இணை வசனம்

ஆகையால், என் பிரியமான சகோதரரே, யாவரும் கேட்கிறதற்குத் தீவிரமாயும், பேசுகிறதற்குப் பொறுமையாயும், கோபிக்கிறதற்குத் தாமதமாயுமிருக்கக்கடவர்கள்;

உன் மனதில் சீக்கிரமாய்க் கோபங்கொள்ளாதே; மூடரின் நெஞ்சிலே கோபம் குடிகொள்ளும்.

முற்கோபி மதிகேட்டைச் செய்வான்; துர்ச்சிந்தனைக்காரன் வெறுக்கப்படுவான்.

பலவானைப்பார்க்கிலும் நீடிய சாந்தமுள்ளவன் உத்தமன்; பட்டணத்தைப் பிடிக்கிறவனைப்பார்க்கிலும் தன் மனதை அடக்குகிறவன் உத்தமன்.

மனுஷனுடைய விவேகம் அவன் கோபத்தை அடக்கும்; குற்றத்தை மன்னிப்பது அவனுக்கு மகிமை.

கோபக்காரன் சண்டையை எழுப்புகிறான்; நீடிய சாந்தமுள்ளவனோ சண்டையை அமர்த்துகிறான்.

மோசேயானவன் பூமியிலுள்ள சகல மனிதரிலும் மிகுந்த சாந்தகுணமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான்.

கோபக்காரனுக்குத் தோழனாகாதே; உக்கிரமுள்ள மனுஷனோடே நடவாதே.

தன் ஆவியை அடக்காத மனுஷன் மதிலிடிந்த பாழான பட்டணம்போலிருக்கிறான்.

நீ அதை மேன்மைப்படுத்து, அது உன்னை மேன்மைப்படுத்தும்; நீ அதைத் தழுவிக்கொண்டால், அது உன்னைக் கனம்பண்ணும்.

வழக்காடப் பதற்றமாய்ப் போகாதே; முடிவிலே உன் அயலான் உன்னை வெட்கப்படுத்தும்போது, நீ என்ன செய்யலாம் என்று திகைப்பாயே.

மூடர் மகா உயர்ந்த நிலையில் வைக்கப்படுகிறார்கள்; சீமான்களோ தாழ்ந்தநிலையில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது ஏரோது தான் சாஸ்திரிகளால் வஞ்சிக்கப்பட்டதைக் கண்டு, மிகுந்த கோபமடைந்து, ஆட்களை அனுப்பி, தான் சாஸ்திரிகளிடத்தில் திட்டமாய் விசாரித்த காலத்தின்படியே, பெத்லகேமிலும் அதின் சகல எல்லைகளிலுமிருந்த இரண்டு வயதுக்குட்பட்ட எல்லா ஆண்பிள்ளைகளையும் கொலைசெய்தான்.

நான் சாந்தமும் மனத்தாழ்மையுமாயிருக்கிறேன்; என் நுகத்தை உங்கள்மேல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, என்னிடத்தில் கற்றுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அப்பொழுது, உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களுக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் கிடைக்கும்.

அன்பு நீடிய சாந்தமும் தயவுமுள்ளது; அன்புக்குப் பொறாமையில்லை; அன்பு தன்னைப் புகழாது, இறுமாப்பாயிராது,

பரத்திலிருந்து வருகிற ஞானமோ முதலாவது சுத்தமுள்ளதாயும், பின்பு சமாதானமும் சாந்தமும் இணக்கமுமுள்ளதாயும், இரக்கத்தாலும் நற்கனிகளாலும் நிறைந்ததாயும், பட்சபாதமில்லாததாயும், மாயமற்றதாயுமிருக்கிறது.
