ஆகையால், நீங்கள் மதியற்றவர்களாயிராமல், கர்த்தருடைய சித்தம் இன்னதென்று உணர்ந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.

இதினிமித்தம், நாங்கள் அதைக்கேட்ட நாள்முதல் உங்களுக்காக இடைவிடாமல் ஜெபம்பண்ணுகிறோம்; நீங்கள் எல்லா ஞானத்தோடும், ஆவிக்குரிய விவேகத்தோடும் அவருடைய சித்தத்தை அறிகிற அறிவினாலே நிரப்பப்படவும்,

கர்த்தருக்குப் பயப்படுதலே ஞானத்தின் ஆரம்பம்; அவருடைய கற்பனைகளின்படி செய்கிற யாவருக்கும் நற்புத்தியுண்டு; அவர் புகழ்ச்சி என்றைக்கும் நிற்கும்.

உமது பிரமாணங்களைக் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி, என் நடைகள் ஸ்திரப்பட்டால் நலமாயிருக்கும்.

எனக்கு உணர்வைத் தாரும்; அப்பொழுது நான் உமது வேதத்தைப் பற்றிக்கொண்டு, என் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் அதைக் கைக்கொள்ளுவேன்.

உம்முடைய கரங்கள் என்னை உண்டாக்கி, என்னை உருவாக்கிற்று; உம்முடைய கற்பனைகளைக் கற்றுக்கொள்ள என்னை உணர்வுள்ளவனாக்கும்.

அதிகாலையில் உமது கிருபையைக் கேட்கப்பண்ணும், உம்மை நம்பியிருக்கிறேன், நான் நடக்கவேண்டிய வழியை எனக்குக் காண்பியும்; உம்மிடத்தில் என் ஆத்துமாவை உயர்த்துகிறேன்.

அப்பொழுது நீதியையும், நியாயத்தையும், நிதானத்தையும், சகல நல்வழிகளையும் அறிந்துகொள்ளுவாய்.

என்னைச் சிநேகிக்கிறவர்கள் மெய்ப்பொருளைச் சுதந்தரிக்கும்படிக்கும், அவர்களுடைய களஞ்சியங்களை நான் நிரப்பும்படிக்கும்,

துன்மார்க்கன் விருதாவேலையைச் செய்கிறான்; நீதியை விதைக்கிறவனோ மெய்ப்பலனைப் பெறுவான்.

உங்கள் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, வடக்கேயிருந்து வருகிறவர்களை பாருங்கள்; உனக்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்டிருந்த மந்தையும், உன் மகிமையான ஆட்டுக்கிடையும் எங்கே?

பின்பு: ஆத்துமாவே, உனக்காக அநேக வருஷங்களுக்கு அநேகம் பொருள்கள் சேர்த்துவைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; நீ இளைப்பாறி, புசித்துக் குடித்து, பூரிப்பாயிரு என்று என் ஆத்துமாவோடே சொல்லுவேன் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சிந்தித்துச் சொல்லிக்கொண்டான்.

அந்தப்படி, முந்தின நடக்கைக்குரிய மோசம்போக்கும் இச்சைகளாலே கெட்டுப்போகிற பழைய மனுஷனை நீங்கள் களைந்துபோட்டு,

நீ கற்று நிச்சயித்துக்கொண்டவைகளில் நிலைத்திரு; அவைகளை இன்னாரிடத்தில் கற்றாய் என்று நீ அறிந்திருக்கிறதுமல்லாமல்,

வேதவாக்கியங்களெல்லாம் தேவஆவியினால் அருளப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் தேறினவனாகவும், எந்த நற்கிரியையுஞ் செய்யத் தகுதியுள்ளவனாகவும் இருக்கும்படி,

உங்களில் ஞானியும் விவேகியுமாயிருக்கிறவன் எவனோ, அவன் ஞானத்திற்குரிய சாந்தத்தோடே தன் கிரியைகளை நல்ல நடக்கையினாலே காண்பிக்கக்கடவன்.
