சாலொமோனின் நீதிமொழிகள்: ஞானமுள்ள மகன் தகப்பனைச் சந்தோஷப்படுத்துகிறான்; மூடத்தனமுள்ளவனோ தாய்க்குச் சஞ்சலமாயிருக்கிறான்.

ஞானத்தில் பிரியப்படுகிறவன் தன்தகப்பனை மகிழப்பண்ணுகிறான்; வேசிகளோடே தொந்திப்பானவனோ ஆஸ்தியை அழிக்கிறான்.

தகப்பனைப் பரியாசம்பண்ணி, தாயின் கட்டளையை அசட்டைபண்ணுகிற கண்ணை நதியின் காகங்கள் பிடுங்கும், கழுகின் குஞ்சுகள் தின்னும்.

உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குக் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்திலே உன் நாட்கள் நீடித்திருப்பதற்கு, உன் தகப்பனையும் உன் தாயையும் கனம்பண்ணுவாயாக.

உங்களில் அவனவன் தன்தன் தாய்க்கும், தன்தன் தகப்பனுக்கும் பயந்திருக்கவும், என் ஓய்வுநாட்களை ஆசரிக்கவும் கடவீர்கள்; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

பின்னும் ராஜா: என்னுடைய கண்கள் காண இன்றையதினம் என் சிங்காசனத்தின்மேல் ஒருவனை வீற்றிருக்கச் செய்த இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் என்று சொன்னார் என்றான்.

ஆகிலும் நீ அவனைக் குற்றமற்றவன் என்று எண்ணாதே; நீ புத்திமான்; அவனுடைய நரைமயிரை இரத்தத்துடன் பாதாளத்தில் இறங்கப்பண்ண, நீ அவனுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியதை அறிவாய் என்றான்.

ஈராம் சாலொமோனின் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு: அந்த ஏராளமான ஜனங்களை ஆளும்படி, தாவீதுக்கு ஒரு ஞானமுள்ள குமாரனைக் கொடுத்த கர்த்தர் இன்று ஸ்தோத்திரிக்கப்படுவாராக என்று சொல்லி;

என் மகனே, உன் இருதயம் ஞானமுள்ளதாயிருந்தால், என்னிலே என் இருதயம் மகிழும்.

உன்னைப் பெற்ற தகப்பனுக்குச் செவிகொடு; உன் தாய் வயதுசென்றவளாகும்போது அவளை அசட்டைபண்ணாதே.

தகப்பனுக்குப் பிள்ளை ஊழியஞ்செய்வதுபோல, அவன் என்னுடனேகூட சுவிசேஷத்தினிமித்தம் ஊழியஞ்செய்தானென்று அவனுடைய உத்தமகுணத்தை அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்.
