கள்ளக்காரியத்துக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பாயாக; குற்றமில்லாதவனையும் நீதிமானையும் கொலைசெய்யாயாக; நான் துன்மார்க்கனை நீதிமான் என்று தீர்க்கமாட்டேன்.

பரிதானத்திற்காகக் குற்றவாளியை நீதிமானாகத் தீர்த்து நீதிமானின் நியாயத்தை அவனுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் புரட்டுகிறவர்களுக்கு ஐயோ!

வழக்கிலே நீதிமானைத் தோற்கடிக்கிறதற்கு, துன்மார்க்கனுக்கு முகதாட்சிணியம்பண்ணுவது நல்லதல்ல;

அப்பொழுது பேலியாளின் மக்களாகிய இரண்டு பேர் வந்து, அவனுக்கு எதிராக உட்கார்ந்து: நாபோத் தேவனையும் ராஜாவையும் தூஷித்தான் என்று ஜனத்திற்கு முன்பாக அவன்மேல் சாட்சி சொன்னார்கள்; அதற்குப்பின்பு அவனைப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே கொண்டு போய், அவன் சாகும்படிக்கு அவனைக் கல்லெறிந்து,

ஆறு காரியங்களைக் கர்த்தர் வெறுக்கிறார், ஏழும் அவருக்கு அருவருப்பானவைகள்.

துன்மார்க்கருடைய பலி கர்த்தருக்கு அருவருப்பானது; செம்மையானவர்களின் ஜெபமோ அவருக்குப் பிரியம்.

பின்னும் ஞானமுள்ளவர்களின் புத்திமதிகள் என்னவெனில்: நியாயத்திலே முகதாட்சிணியம் நல்லதல்ல.

என் நினைவுகள் உங்கள் நினைவுகள் அல்ல; உங்கள் வழிகள் என் வழிகளும் அல்லவென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

அதின் நடுவில் இருக்கிற அதின் பிரபுக்கள் இரை கவ்வுகிற ஓநாய்களைப்போல் இருக்கிறார்கள்; அநியாயமாய்ப் பொருள் சம்பாதிக்கிறதற்கு இரத்தஞ்சிந்துகிறார்கள், ஆத்துமாக்களைக் கொள்ளையிடுகிறார்கள்.

நியாயத்தை எட்டியாக மாற்றி, நீதியைத் தரையிலே விழப்பண்ணுகிறவர்களே, அவரைத் தேடுங்கள்.

உங்கள் மீறுதல்கள் மிகுதியென்றும், உங்கள் பாவங்கள் பலத்ததென்றும் அறிவேன்; நீதிமானை ஒடுக்கி, பரிதானம் வாங்கி ஒலிமுகவாசலில் ஏழைகளின் நியாயத்தைப் புரட்டுகிறீர்கள்.

ஒரு கன்மலையின்மேல் குதிரைகள் ஓடுமோ? அங்கே ஒருவன் மாடுகளால் உழுவானோ? நியாயத்தை நஞ்சாகவும், நீதியின் கனியை எட்டியாகவும் மாற்றினீர்கள்.

ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் அதைக் கேட்டு: இவனை அகற்றும், பரபாசை எங்களுக்கு விடுதலையாக்கும் என்று சத்தமிட்டுக் கேட்டார்கள்.

ஒருவன் கிரியை செய்யாமல் பாவியை நீதிமானாக்குகிறவரிடத்தில் விசுவாசம் வைக்கிறவனாயிருந்தால், அவனுடைய விசுவாசமே அவனுக்கு நீதியாக எண்ணப்படும்.

நீதிமானை நீங்கள் ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்துக் கொலைசெய்தீர்கள்; அவன் உங்களோடே எதிர்த்து நிற்கவில்லை.
