சிநேகிதன் எல்லாக் காலத்திலும் சிநேகிப்பான்; இடுக்கணில் உதவவே சகோதரன் பிறந்திருக்கிறான்.

பரிமளதைலமும் சுகந்ததூபமும் இருதயத்தைக் களிப்பாக்குவதுபோல, ஒருவனுடைய சிநேகிதன் உட்கருத்தான ஆலோசனையினால் பாராட்டும் இன்பமானது களிப்பாக்கும்.

தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக்குகிறதற்கு, இந்த யுத்தமனுஷர் எல்லாரும் அணி அணியாய் வைக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக, உத்தம இருதயத்தோடே எப்ரோனுக்கு வந்தார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலில் மற்ற யாவரும் தாவீதை ராஜாவாக்குகிறதற்கு ஒருமனப்பட்டிருந்தார்கள்.

உடனே, அவன் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் வந்து: ரபீ, வாழ்க என்று சொல்லி, அவரை முத்தஞ்செய்தான்.

ஒருவன் தன் சிநேகிதருக்காகத் தன் ஜீவனைக் கொடுக்கிற அன்பிலும் அதிகமான அன்பு ஒருவரிடத்திலுமில்லை.

அப்படியே யோனத்தான் தன் தகப்பனாகிய சவுலோடே தாவீதுக்காக நலமாய்ப் பேசி, ராஜா தம்முடைய அடியானாகிய தாவீதுக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்யாதிருப்பாராக; அவன் உமக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்யவில்லை; அவன் செய்கைகள் உமக்கு மெத்த உபயோகமாயிருக்கிறதே.

தாவீது சிக்லாகுக்கு வந்தபோது, அவன் கொள்ளையாடினவைகளிலே தன் சிநேகிதராகிய யூதாவின் மூப்பருக்குச் சிலவற்றை அனுப்பி: இதோ, கர்த்தருடைய சத்துருக்களின் கொள்ளையில் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கும் ஆசீர்வாதபாகம் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.

என் சகோதாரனாகிய யோனத்தானே, உனக்காக நான் வியாகுலப்படுகிறேன்; நீ எனக்கு வெகு இன்பமாயிருந்தாய்; உன் சிநேகம் ஆச்சரியமாயிருந்தது; ஸ்தீரீகளின் சிநேகத்தைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதிகமாயிருந்தது.

யோனத்தான்நிமித்தம் என்னால் தயவுபெறத்தக்கவன் எவனாவது சவுலின் வீட்டாரில் இன்னும் மீதியாயிருக்கிறவன் உண்டா என்று தாவீது கேட்டான்.

அப்பொழுது அப்சலோம் ஊசாயைப் பார்த்து: உன் சிநேகிதன்மேல் உனக்கு இருக்கிற தயை இதுதானோ? உன் சிநேகிதனோடே நீ போகாதேபோனது என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.

தாவீது மக்னாயீமில் சேர்ந்தபோது, அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் தேசத்து ரப்பா பட்டணத்தானாகிய சோபி என்னும் நாகாசின் குமாரனும், லோதேபார் ஊரானான அம்மியேலின் குமாரன் மாகீரும், ரோகிலிம் ஊரானும் கீலேயாத்தியனுமாகிய பர்சிலாவும்,

அதற்கு மேவிபோசேத் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன் சமாதானத்தோடே தம்முடைய வீட்டிற்கு வந்திருக்கும்போது, அவனே எல்லாவற்றையும் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளட்டும் என்றான்.

ஆனாலும் தாவீதும் சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானும் கர்த்தரைக்கொண்டு இட்ட ஆணையினிமித்தம், ராஜா சவுலின் குமாரனாகிய யோனத்தானின் மகன் மேவிபோசேத்தைத் தப்பவிட்டு,
