ஆட்டுமந்தையைப்போல பாதாளத்திலே கிடத்தப்படுகிறார்கள்; மரணம் அவர்களை மேய்ந்துபோடும்; செம்மையானவர்கள் அதிகாலையில் அவர்களை ஆண்டுகொள்வார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாசஸ்தலத்தில் நிலைத்திருக்கக் கூடாதபடி அவர்களுடைய ரூபத்தைப் பாதாளம் அழிக்கும்.

தங்கள் கோணலான வழிகளுக்குச் சாய்கிறவர்களைக் கர்த்தர் அக்கிரமக்காரரோடே போகப்பண்ணுவார். இஸ்ரவேலுக்கோ சமாதானமுண்டு.

அவளுடைய வீடு மரணத்துக்கும், அவளுடைய பாதைகள் மரித்தோரிடத்திற்கும் சாய்கிறது.

அவள் அநேகரைக் காயப்படுத்தி, விழப்பண்ணினாள்; பலவான்கள் அநேகரைக் கொலைசெய்தாள்.

ஆயினும் மரித்தவர்கள் அவ்விடத்தில் உண்டென்றும், அவளுடைய விருந்தாளிகள் நரகபாதாளங்களில் கிடக்கிறார்களென்றும் அவன் அறியான்.

ஞானிகளோடே சஞ்சரிக்கிறவன் ஞானமடைவான்; மூடருக்குத் தோழனோ நாசமடைவான்.

கர்த்தரை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்குகிறவர்களையும் கர்த்தரைத் தேடாமலும் அவரைக்குறித்து விசாரியாலும் இருக்கிறவர்களையும் இவ்விடத்தில் இராதபடிக்குச் சங்காரம்பண்ணுவேன்.

ஒளியானது உலகத்திலே வந்திருந்தும் மனுஷருடைய கிரியைகள் பொல்லாதவைகளாயிருக்கிறபடியினால் அவர்கள் ஒளியைப்பார்க்கிலும் இருளை விரும்புகிறதே அந்த ஆக்கினைத்தீர்ப்புக்குக் காரணமாயிருக்கிறது.

அக்கிரமங்களினாலும் பாவங்களினாலும் மரித்தவர்களாயிருந்த உங்களை உயிர்ப்பித்தார்.

ஏனெனில், ஒருதரம் பிரகாசிப்பிக்கப்பட்டும், பரமஈவை ருசிபார்த்தும், பரிசுத்த ஆவியைப் பெற்றும்,

சத்தியத்தை அறியும் அறிவை அடைந்தபின்பு நாம் மனப்பூர்வமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறவர்களாயிருந்தால், பாவங்களினிமித்தம் செலுத்தத்தக்க வேறொருபலி இனியிராமல்,

விசுவாசத்தினாலே நீதிமான் பிழைப்பான், பின்வாங்கிப்போவானானால் அவன்மேல் என் ஆத்துமா பிரியமாயிராது என்கிறார்.

அவர்கள் நீதியின் மார்க்கத்தை அறிந்த பின்பு தங்களுக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கப்பட்ட பரிசுத்த கற்பனையை விட்டு விலகுவதைப்பார்க்கிலும் அதை அறியாதிருந்தார்களானால் அவர்களுக்கு நலமாயிருக்கும்.

அவர்கள் நம்மைவிட்டுப் பிரிந்து போனார்கள், ஆகிலும் அவர்கள் நம்முடையவர்களாயிருக்கவில்லை; நம்முடையவர்களாயிருந்தார்களானால் நம்முடனே நிலைத்திருப்பார்களே; எல்லாரும் நம்முடையவர்களல்லவென்று வெளியாகும்படிக்கே பிரிந்துபோனார்கள்.
