நீதியுள்ள உதடுகள் ராஜாக்களுக்குப் பிரியம்; நிதானமாய்ப் பேசுகிறவனில் ராஜாக்கள் பிரியப்படுவார்கள்.

இருதயத்தில் சுத்தமுள்ளவர்கள் பாக்கியவான்கள்; அவர்கள் தேவனைத் தரிசிப்பார்கள்.

தேசத்தில் உண்மையானவர்கள் என்னோடே வாசம்பண்ணும்படி என் கண்கள் அவர்கள்மேல் நோக்கமாயிருக்கும்; உத்தமமான வழியில் நடக்கிறவன் என்னைச் சேவிப்பான்.

பின்பு, பார்வோன் யோசேப்பை நோக்கி: தேவன் இவையெல்லாவற்றையும் உனக்கு வெளிப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறபடியால், உன்னைப்போல விவேகமும் ஞானமுமுள்ளவன் வேறொருவனும் இல்லை.

இந்த எஸ்றா இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அருளிய மோசேயின் நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திலே தேறின வேதபாரகனாயிருந்தான்; அவனுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருடைய கரம் அவன்மேல் இருந்ததினால், அவன் கேட்டவைகளையெல்லாம் ராஜா அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்.

அப்பொழுது ராஜா என்னைப் பார்த்து: நீ கேட்கிற காரியம் என்ன என்றார். அப்பொழுது நான்: பரலோகத்தின் தேவனை நோக்கி ஜெபம்பண்ணி,

யூதனாகிய மொர்தெகாய் ராஜாவாகிய அகாஸ்வேருவுக்கு இரண்டாவதானவனும், யூதருக்குள் பெரியவனும், தன் திரளான சகோதரருக்குப் பிரியமானவனுமாயிருந்ததும் அன்றி தன் ஜனங்களுடைய நன்மையை நாடி, தன் குலத்தாருக்கெல்லாம் சமாதானமுண்டாகப் பேசுகிறவனுமாயிருந்தான்.

எல்லா மனுபுத்திரரிலும் நீர் மகா சவுந்தரியமுள்ளவர்; உம்முடைய உதடுகளில் அருள் பொழிகிறது; ஆகையால் தேவன் உம்மை என்றென்றைக்கும் ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறார்.

ராஜாவின் தயை விவேகமுள்ள பணிவிடைக்காரன்மேலிருக்கும்; அவனுடைய கோபமோ இலச்சையுண்டாக்குகிறவன் மேலிருக்கும்.

அப்பொழுது ராஜாவாகிய நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் முகங்குப்புற விழுந்து, தானியேலை வணங்கி, அவனுக்குக் காணிக்கை செலுத்தவும் தூபங்காட்டவும் கட்டளையிட்டான்.

பின்பு ராஜா சாத்ராக், மேஷாக், ஆபேத்நேகோ என்பவர்களைப் பாபிலோன் தேசத்திலே உயர்த்தினான்.

ராஜா கெபியின் கிட்டவந்தபோது, துயரசத்தமாய்த் தானியேலைக் கூப்பிட்டு: தானியேலே, ஜீவனுள்ள தேவனுடைய தாசனே, நீ இடைவிடாமல் ஆராதிக்கிற உன் தேவன் உன்னைச் சிங்கங்களுக்குத் தப்புவிக்க வல்லவராயிருந்தாரா என்று தானியேலைக் கேட்டான்.

எல்லாரும் அவருக்கு நற்சாட்சி கொடுத்து, அவருடைய வாயிலிருந்து புறப்பட்ட கிருபையுள்ள வார்த்தைகளைக் குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு: இவன் யோசேப்பின் குமாரன் அல்லவா என்றார்கள்.
