பிதாக்களே, நீங்களும் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளைக் கோபப்படுத்தாமல், கர்த்தருக்கேற்ற சிட்சையிலும் போதனையிலும் அவர்களை வளர்ப்பீர்களாக.

வேதவாக்கியங்களெல்லாம் தேவஆவியினால் அருளப்பட்டிருக்கிறது; தேவனுடைய மனுஷன் தேறினவனாகவும், எந்த நற்கிரியையுஞ் செய்யத் தகுதியுள்ளவனாகவும் இருக்கும்படி,

கர்த்தர் ஆபிரகாமுக்குச் சொன்னதை நிறைவேற்றும்படியாய் அவன் தன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும், தனக்குப் பின்வரும் தன் வீட்டாருக்கும்: நீங்கள் நீதியையும் நியாயத்தையும் செய்து, கர்த்தருடைய வழியைக் காத்து நடவுங்கள் என்று கட்டளையிடுவான் என்பதை அறிந்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார்.

நீ அவைகளை உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்குக் கருத்தாய்ப் போதித்து, நீ உன் வீட்டில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறபோதும், வழியில் நடக்கிறபோதும், படுத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறபோதும், எழுந்திருக்கிறபோதும் அவைகளைக் குறித்துப் பேசி,

அவைகளை நாங்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டு அறிந்தோம், எங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவைகளை எங்களுக்குத் தெரிவித்தார்கள்.

ஓரேபிலே உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நீ நிற்கும்போது, கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: ஜனங்களை என்னிடத்தில் கூடிவரச்செய்து, என் வார்த்தைகளை அவர்கள் கேட்கும்படி பண்ணுவேன்; அவர்கள் பூமியில் உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் எனக்குப் பயந்திருக்கும்படி அவைகளைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டு, தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் போதிக்கக்கடவர்கள் என்று சொல்லிய நாளில்,

ஆகையால் அவன் கர்த்தருக்கென்று கேட்கப்பட்டபடியினால், அவன் உயிரோடிருக்கும் சகல நாளும் அவனைக் கர்த்தருக்கே ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கிறேன் என்றாள்; அவன் அங்கே கர்த்தரைப் பணிந்துகொண்டான்.

இப்போதும் இதோ, ராஜாவானவர் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவருகிறார்; நானோ கிழவனும் நரைத்தவனுமானேன்; என் குமாரர் உங்களோடிருப்பார்கள்; நான் என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகச் சஞ்சரித்துவந்தேன்.

சாமுவேல் என்னும் பிள்ளையாண்டானோ, பெரியவனாக வளர்ந்து, கர்த்தருக்கும் மனுஷருக்கும் பிரியமாக நடந்துகொண்டான்.
