ஒரு குருவி தன்னுடைய உயிரை வாங்கும் கண்ணியை அறியாமல் அதில் விழுவதற்கு விரைந்து போகிறதுபோலவும், அவளுக்குப் பின்னே போனான்; அம்பு அவனுடைய ஈரலைப் பிளந்தது.

வேட்டைக்காரன் அந்த மானின் நெஞ்சில் அம்பை வீசத்தயாராக இருந்தான். அவன் வலைக்குள் பறந்துபோகும் பறவையைப்போன்று இருந்தான். அவன் தனக்கு வரப்போகும் ஆபத்தை அறிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.

திருவிவிலியம்
கண்ணியில் விழப்போகும் பறவையைப் போலவும் சென்றான். ஓர் அம்பு அவன் நெஞ்சில் ஊடுருவிப் பாயும் வரையில், தன் உயிர் அழிக்கப்படும் என்பதை அறியாமலே சென்றான்.⒫
