இயேசு இந்த வார்த்தைகளைச் சொல்லி முடித்தபோது, அவர் வேதபாரகரைப்போல் போதியாமல், அதிகாரமுடையவராய் அவர்களுக்குப் போதித்தபடியால்,

யோபே, என் நியாயங்களைக்கேளும்; என் வார்த்தைகளுக்கெல்லாம் செவிகொடும்.

கர்த்தருடைய வேதம் குறைவற்றதும் ஆத்துமாவை உயிர்ப்பிக்கிறதுமாயிருக்கிறது; கர்த்தருடைய சாட்சி சத்தியமும், பேதையை ஞானியாக்குகிறதுமாயிருக்கிறது.

என் வாய் ஞானத்தைப் பேசும்; என் இருதயம் உணர்வைத் தியானிக்கும்.

கர்த்தர் ஞானத்தைத் தருகிறார்; அவர் வாயினின்று அறிவும் புத்தியும் வரும்.

நான் உங்களுக்கு நற்போதகத்தைத் தருகிறேன்; என் உபதேசத்தை விடாதிருங்கள்.

என் மகனே, என் வார்த்தைகளைக் கவனி; என் வசனங்களுக்கு உன் செவியைச் சாய்.

சத்திய வார்த்தைகளின் யதார்த்தத்தை நான் உனக்குத் தெரிவிக்கும்படிக்கும், நீ உன்னை அனுப்பினவர்களுக்குச் சத்திய வார்த்தைகளை மறுமொழியாகச் சொல்லும்படிக்கும்,

உன் உதடுகள் செம்மையானவைகளைப் பேசினால், என் உள்ளிந்திரியங்கள் மகிழும்.

அப்பொழுது அவர் தமது வாயைத் திறந்து அவர்களுக்கு உபதேசித்துச் சொன்னது என்னவென்றால்:

என் வாயை உவமைகளால் திறப்பேன், உலகத்தோற்றமுதல் மறைபொருளானவைகளை வெளிப்படுத்துவேன் என்று தீர்க்கதரிசியால் உரைக்கப்பட்டது நிறைவேறும்படி இப்படி நடந்தது.

அப்படியிருந்தும், தேறினவர்களுக்குள்ளே ஞானத்தைப் பேசுகிறோம்; இப்பிரபஞ்சத்தின் ஞானத்தையல்ல, அழிந்துபோகிறவர்களாகிய இப்பிரபஞ்சத்தின் பிரபுக்களுடைய ஞானத்தையுமல்ல,

உங்கள்பொருட்டு தேவனால் எனக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்ட உத்தியோகத்தின்படியே நான் அந்தச் சபைக்கு ஊழியக்காரனானேன்.
