உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் என்னும் மகிமையும் பயங்கரமுமான நாமத்திற்குப் பயப்படும்படிக்கு, நீ இந்தப் புஸ்தகத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிற இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாண வார்த்தைகளின்படியெல்லாம் நடக்கக் கவனமாயிராவிட்டால்,

கானானியரும் தேசத்துக்குடிகள் யாவரும் இதைக்கேட்டு, எங்களை வளைந்துகொண்டு, எங்கள் பேரைப் பூமியிலிராதபடிக்கு வேரற்றுப்போகப்பண்ணுவார்களே; அப்பொழுது உமத்து மகத்தான நாமத்துக்கு என்ன செய்வீர் என்றான்.

சூரியன் உதிக்கிற திசைதொடங்கி, அது அஸ்தமிக்கிற திசைவரைக்கும், என் நாமம் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே மகத்துவமாயிருக்கும்; எல்லா இடங்களிலும் என் நாமத்துக்குத் தூபமும் சுத்தமான காணிக்கையும் செலுத்தப்படும்; என் நாமம் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே மகத்துவமாயிருக்கும் என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

தன் மந்தையில் கடா இருக்கையில் கெட்டுப்போனதை ஆண்டவருக்கு நேர்ந்துகொண்டு பலியிடுகிற கபடஸ்தன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன்; என் நாமம் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே பயங்கரமாயிருக்கும்; நான் மகத்துவமான ராஜா என்று சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

அப்பொழுது மோசே தேவனை நோக்கி: நான் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரிடத்தில் போய், உங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய தேவன் உங்களிடத்தில் என்னை அனுப்பினார் என்று அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லும்போது, அவருடைய நாமம் என்ன என்று அவர்கள் என்னிடத்தில் கேட்டால், நான் அவர்களுக்கு என்ன சொல்லுவேன் என்றான்.

கர்த்தர் ஒரு மேகத்தில் இறங்கி, அங்கே அவன் அருகே நின்று, கர்த்தருடைய நாமத்தைக் கூறினார்.

கர்த்தர் நீதியுள்ளவர், நீதியின்மேல் பிரியப்படுவார்; அவருடைய முகம் செம்மையானவனை நோக்கியிருக்கிறது.

கர்த்தர் தமது வழிகளிலெல்லாம் நீதியுள்ளவரும், தமது கிரியைகளிலெல்லாம் கிருபையுள்ளவருமாயிருக்கிறார்.

நீ பயப்படாதே, நான் உன்னுடனே இருக்கிறேன்; திகையாதே, நான் உன் தேவன்; நான் உன்னைப் பலப்படுத்தி உனக்குச் சகாயம்பண்ணுவேன்; என் நீதியின் வலதுகரத்தினால் உன்னைத் தாங்குவேன்.

தன் வேசித்தனத்தினால் பூமியைக்கெடுத்த மகா வேசிக்கு அவர் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்கொடுத்து, தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரரின் இரத்தத்திற்காக அவளிடத்தில் பழிவாங்கினாரே என்றார்கள்.
