ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாயினால் அவருக்கு இச்சகம்பேசி, தங்கள் நாவினால் அவரிடத்தில் பொய்சொன்னார்கள்.

ஜனங்கள் கூடிவருகிற வழக்கத்தின்படி உன்னிடத்தில் வந்து, உனக்கு முன்பாக என் ஜனங்கள்போல் உட்கார்ந்து, உன் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்கிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் அவைகளின்படி செய்கிறதில்லை; அவர்கள் தங்கள் வாயினாலே இன்பமாய்ப் பேசுகிறார்கள், அவர்கள் இருதயமோ பொருளாசையைப் பின்பற்றிப்போகிறது.

இந்த ஜனங்கள் தங்கள் வாயினால் என்னிடத்தில் சேர்ந்து, தங்கள் உதடுகளினால் என்னைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் இருதயமோ எனக்குத் தூரமாய் விலகியிருக்கிறது; அவர்கள் எனக்குப் பயப்படுகிற பயம் மனுஷராலே போதிக்கப்பட்ட கற்பனையாயிருக்கிறது.

நீங்கள் என்னோடே பேசுகையில், கர்த்தர் உங்கள் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: இந்த ஜனங்கள் உன்னோடே சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டேன்; அவர்கள் சொன்னது எல்லாம் நன்றாய்ச் சொன்னார்கள்.

அவர்கள் என் சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டவுடனே எனக்குக் கீழ்ப்படிகிறார்கள்; அந்நியரும் எனக்கு இச்சகம்பேசி அடங்குகிறார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளை விசுவாசித்து, அவருடைய துதியைப் பாடினார்கள்.

நீ யாருக்கு அஞ்சிப் பயப்படுகிறாய், நீ பொய்சொல்லுகிறாயே; நீ என்னை நினையாமலும், உன் மனதிலே வைக்காமலும் போகிறாய்; நான் வெகுகாலம் மவுனமாயிருந்தேன் அல்லவா? ஆகையால் எனக்குப் பயப்படாதிருக்கிறாய்.

எப்பிராயீமர் பொய்களினாலும், இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் வஞ்சகத்தினாலும் என்னைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; யூதாவோவெனில் இன்னும் தேவனோடே அரசாண்டு, பரிசுத்தவான்களோடே உண்மையாயிருக்கிறான்.
