தேவனே, எங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய நாட்களாகிய பூர்வநாட்களில் நீர் நடப்பித்த கிரியைகளை அவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள்; அவைகளை எங்கள் காதுகளால் கேட்டோம்.

கர்த்தாவே, நீர் வெளிப்படுத்தினதை நான் கேட்டேன், எனக்குப் பயமுண்டாயிற்று; கர்த்தாவே, வருஷங்களின் நடுவிலே உம்முடைய கிரியையை உயிர்ப்பியும், வருஷங்களின் நடுவிலே அதை விளங்கப்பண்ணும், கோபித்தாலும் இரக்கத்தை நினைத்தருளும்.

ஒரே மனிதனைக் கொல்லுகிறதுபோல இந்த ஜனங்களையெல்லாம் நீர் கொல்வீரானால், அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய கீர்த்தியைக் கேட்டிருக்கும் புறஜாதியார்:

எப்புன்னேயின் குமாரன் காலேபும், நூனின் குமாரன் யோசுவாவும் தவிர, மற்றவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் நான் உங்களைக் குடியேற்றுவேன் என்று ஆணையிட்டுக்கொடுத்த தேசத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை.

கொள்ளையாவார்கள் என்று நீங்கள் சொன்ன உங்கள் குழந்தைகளும், இந்நாளிலே நன்மை தீமை அறியாத உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் அதில் பிரவேசிப்பார்கள்; அவர்களுக்கு அதைக் கொடுப்பேன்; அவர்கள் அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்வார்கள்.

அவர் கன்மலை; அவர் கிரியை உத்தமமானது; அவர் வழிகளெல்லாம் நியாயம், அவர் நியாயக்கேடில்லாத சத்தியமுள்ள தேவன்; அவர் நீதியும் செம்மையுமானவர்.
