சுரமண்டலத்தினால் கர்த்தரைத் துதித்து, பத்து நரம்பு வீணையினாலும் அவரைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணுங்கள்.

எருசலேமின் அலங்கத்தைப் பிரதிஷ்டைபண்ணுகையில், துதியினாலும், பாடலினாலும் கைத்தாளம் தம்புரு சுரமண்டலம் முதலான கீதவாத்தியங்களினாலும், பிரதிஷ்டையை மகிழ்ச்சியோடே கொண்டாட எல்லா இடங்களிலும் இருக்கிற லேவியரை எருசலேமுக்கு வரும்படி தேடினார்கள்.

பின்பு பெலிஸ்தரின் தாணையம் இருக்கிற தேவனுடைய மலைக்குப் போவாய்; அங்கே நீ பட்டணத்திற்குள் பிரவேசிக்கையில், மேடையிலிருந்து இறங்கிவருகிற தீர்க்கதரிசிகளின் கூட்டத்திற்கு எதிர்ப்படுவாய்; அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாகத் தம்புரும் மேளமும் நாகசுரமும் சுரமண்டலமும் போகும்; அவர்கள் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுவார்கள்.

தாவீதும் சகல இஸ்ரவேலரும் தங்கள் முழுப் பலத்தோடும் தேவனுக்குமுன்பாகச் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் மேளங்களையும் கைத்தாளங்களையும் பூரிகைகளையும் சேவித்து மகிழ்ச்சியாய் ஆடிப்பாடினார்கள்.

தாவீது லேவியரின் பிரபுக்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் சகோதரராகிய பாடகரைத் தம்புரு சுரமண்டலம் கைத்தாளம் முதலிய கீதவாத்தியங்கள் முழங்க தங்கள் சத்தத்தை உயர்த்தி, சந்தோஷமுண்டாகப் பாடும்படி நிறுத்தவேண்டுமென்று சொன்னான்.

இவர்கள் அனைவரும் ராஜாவுடைய கட்டளைப்பிரமாணமாய்க் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தில் தாளங்கள் தம்புருகள் சுரமண்டலங்களாகிய கீதவாத்தியம் வாசிக்க, தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் ஊழியமாக அவரவர் தங்கள் தங்கள் தகப்பன்மாராகிய ஆசாப் எதுத்தூன், ஏமான் என்பவர்கள் வசத்தில் இருந்தார்கள்.

மூன்றில் ஒருபங்கு ராஜாவின் அரமனையையும், மூன்றில் ஒருபங்கு அஸ்திபார வாசலையும் காக்கவும், ஜனங்களெல்லாம் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயப் பிராகாரங்களில் இருக்கவும் வேண்டும்.

அவன், தாவீதும், ராஜாவின் ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரனாகிய காத்தும், தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும் கற்பித்தபடியே, கைத்தாளங்களையும் தம்புருகளையும் சுரமண்டலங்களையும் வாசிக்கிற லேவியரைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே நிறுத்தினான்; இப்படிச் செய்யவேண்டும் என்கிற கற்பனை கர்த்தரால் அவருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் கொண்டு உண்டாயிருந்தது.

என் மகிமையே, விழி; வீணையே சுரமண்டலமே, விழியுங்கள்; அதிகாலையில் விழித்துக்கொள்வேன்.

முன்னாகப் பாடுகிறவர்களும் பின்னாக வீணைகளை வாசிக்கிறவர்களும், சுற்றிலும் தம்புரு வாசிக்கிற கன்னிகைகளும் நடந்தார்கள்.

தம்புரு வாசித்து, வீணையையும் இனிய ஓசையான சுரமண்டலத்தையும் எடுத்து, சங்கீதம் பாடுங்கள்.

அவருடைய நாமத்தை நடனத்தோடே துதித்து தம்புரினாலும் கின்னரத்தினாலும் அவரைக் கீர்த்தனம்பண்ணக்கடவர்கள்.

எக்காள தொனியோடே அவரைத் துதியுங்கள்; வீணையோடும் சுரமண்டலத்தோடும் அவரைத் துதியுங்கள்.

கர்த்தர் தாம் செய்த நியாயத்தில் அறியப்படுகிறார்; துன்மார்க்கன் தன் கைகளின் செய்கையிலே சிக்கிக்கொண்டான்.(இகாயோன்,சேலா.)
